Resetting the code

Hi. I just purchased a used pfaff creative 7550 from an estate. The machine had a code set by the previous owner and no one knows what it is. Is there a way to reset the code, or disable it?

Thanks!

The 7550 has a battery backup (little door on bottom of machine - 2 AA batteries). Remove batteries for a couple of days and the code should disappear. Removing the batteries WILL NOT effect the main memory of the machine - they are just for the backup of any personally designed stitches and memory combinations - not the hard memory of the machine. Periodically these batteries will need to be changed - a message will pop up on the screen to let you know.

Hope this helps (ex-Pfaff employee - GREAT MACHINE!)

I found this solution while looking for something else.
found this solution http://www.cyberport.net/users/milnerwm/FAQ.html
Emergency password deletion Special thanks to Mel Patrick <[email protected]>) for finding a solution to erasing the code lock [page 64-65 "Pfaff Creative Instruction Book", if you do not remember your Pfaff's password or Pfaff self locks. ------- Thu, 14 Jun 2001 SO....I unplugged the machine from the power cord, removed the foot control, and I once again removed the batteries. But this time I left them out for at least 20 minutes. There is some RAM in the machine that holds the P and M memories plus some "preference" info like the codelock sequence. There is a capacitor that stores some electricity from the battery (or the power cord maybe), that enables you to remove all power, change the batteries in a reasonable amount of time and not lose any of the memory stuff. However if you remove the power long enough, the capacitor drains just like a battery and that resets the machine to null. Now as to why this [phantom password] appeared, perhaps that it's because: 1. we removed the power cord for so long 2. the batteries were low (although this doesn't make much sense when I measured them) 3. the machine had a battery "burp"...;-) -- Mel Patrick wCEO Wabbit Wanch Design www.wabbitwanch.com

Pfaff 7550 creative only sewing in zig zag stitch. The display is stuck in one stitch only and only in one size. None of the button functions are working. I have changed the batteries however this has not...

It sounds like your Pfaff 7550 Creative may be experiencing a hardware-related issue. To diagnose the problem, try resetting the machine by unplugging the power cord and waiting 10 minutes before plugging it back in. If the problem persists, then it is likely that the machine's control circuit board may have become damaged and will need to be replaced. Additionally, you should also check that the machine is receiving power by testing the power cord, power switch, and the foot pedal. If all of these components are working correctly, then the control circuit board will need to be replaced. If you need further assistance, you can consult a professional Pfaff technician for diagnosis and repair.

How do i cange the battery in my Pfaff 7550 and what battery do I buy?

Use two AA batteries. Carefully lay the sewing machine on it's back and access the battery compartment located on the bottom of the machine. Consult your owners manual for further instruction.

I purchased a Pfaff Creative 7550 and would like to know if anyone has used the two volume binder set of instructions and if it is useful. Thanks. Barbara

i have both binders and yes, they are much more useful than the instruction book, but there is also a sewing machine attachment guide you can buy at borders that helped a lot, if you are just looking for how to use attachments i would get that, its much cheaper

Does the Pfaff 7550 run on electrics here and other places?

Somewhere on the machine, usually the bottom, there is a switch to change the voltage settings of the machine. Please check that and your users manual for clarification.
