Someone is acsessin my router and useing my internet without my permission i need to change the password but i cant

If I wanted to check if someone using my wireless router to access the internet without my permission, I'd be right in thinking that if I opened my Network Places dialog box and select View Computers workgroup, I am unable to see anything interfere with users? Otherwise, what is the best way to monitor my wireless security? Uninvited Guests will usually be displayed in My Network Places, if the attacker uses the same group name as you. Log on to the router and go to the area where you can change the network settings. Take a look at your router assigns IP addresses via DHCP, which is the default. Explore the list of attached devices, if you do not recognize any of them may be an intruder.

The best way to prevent anyone from connecting to the router without authorization is to use WEP or preferably WPA. Configure your router to use WPA-Personal and WPA2 if possible. Select and enter your password and will only be given to those who need to communicate.

If your router does not support WPA, or you do not use encryption, you can use MAC authentication instead. You must know the MAC address of your Wi-Fi card and enter it into your router. You can use this with the default security for greater protection.
