TV searches, but will not turn on.

We have a LG62SX4D tv. We also have it set up with the Bose home system. When we try to turn on the TV, the white light on the front of the TV, seems to be searching, but a picture never comes up. Sometimes the tv will just turn itself off after a few minutes. We can hear the cable through the speakers, so it would appear the cable connection is OK.

Black and white

The Lifestyle 38 has no HDMI output. It all depends on what inputs your TV has, which cable set up would be the best for you. Assuming that your TV has an SVideo input, you indeed can use the SVideo output of the Bose system, to get the DVD picture on your TV. However you will need to connect the audio output of the TV to the TV input of the LS 38 to get the TV sound to play over your LS 38. In case you don't have an SVideo connection on your TV, you can use the composite output of the Bose system and connect it to the video input of your TV (yellow in and outputs)

I am trying to hook by Bose 123 to my Panasonic Vestra 3d tv. I have the cable connected but I am not getting anything

To view a DVD in the Bose system on the TV, connect an HDMI cable (or composite-Yellow, Red, White) to the back of the Bose system (output) and the other end to the input on the back of the TV.

If you have a cable box or satellite and want to get the audio on the Bose system, connect an RCA (white and red) cable to the back of the Bose system (input) and the output on the back of the cable box/TV/satellite.

Switch channels on Bose as needed. Good luck!

Have a Bose 3-2-1 Series III. When I put in a DVD, I get sound through the Bose but no picture on my Pioneer TV. This is the second time it has happened. The first time it, we managed to get it going...

Here are 3 things to try and an if all else fails at the end.

1) Make sure the TV is set to the correct Video Input to see the video from DVDs on the Bose system.
• Make sure a DVD is in the disc tray.
• If the TV is connected to the media center using the HDMI cable:
Switch from one Video Input to another and then back to the original input.

2) Turn everything off, then:
Turn on the TV and set the TV Video Input for the Bose system video.
Turn on the Bose system and press DVD.

3) Turn off both the TV and the Bose system and then:
Unplug the HDMI cable from both ends.
Disconnect the power cables from both your TV and the Bose 321 system.
Re-connect power to the TV and to the Bose 321 system.
When the Bose 321 system startup message disappears from the display,
re-connect the HDMI cable to the TV then Bose 321 system.
Turn on the TV first, then turn on the Bose 321 system.

If all the above fail then disconnect the HDMI cable that connects the TV to the Bose 321 system and reconnect the two using a Component cable, an S-Video cable, or the Composite cable provided with the system.

Volume issue

The red/ white RCA is the most correct way for you.

Just to confirm it's analogue tv not digital you are watching?

Your friend is correct for when you watch from a settop box or pay tv provider you can run an optical cable to the bose -but- most tv's don't have an optical out.
SO- can I confirm that you can get sound out of just your tv on it's own?

I'd say that the audio outs on the back of your tv are "linked" to the tv's volume control, so you have to turn up the volume to get a louder output. Some tv's are advanced that you can disable the tv speakers, and permanentlyh set the tv output to a fixed level so you can use your surround sound (and Its volume control)
Try this one if you can.

Black and white dvd picture bose 321 connected to sony tv

Your TV may not likely be compatible with your Bose System. You may have to try your Bose System with another TV to know if it's a compatible issue or a video fault in the Media Center

Dvd is showing black and white

You are running in the wrong format.
If you are in the USA then you need to set the Bose system to NTSC. If you are in another part of the globe then set it to PAL.
The other thing is to make sure your TV is set the correct way as well. The only other thing that will cause this is if you are trying to playback a PAL dvd on an NTSC system (and the other way around of course)
All the options you need will be in the setup menus for both the TV and Bose.
Hope that helps
That should solve your problems.

Can only get black and white images when playing DVD's

Check your settings - video format. It should be NTSC for USA standard. If it is set to European (PAL) it will be in black & white. Hope this helps.
