Try this site:http://www.akaipro.com/mpc2500 Try downloading all the the release notes for ver.1.24 if you haven't already. Download the ver.1.24 which seems to be the newest to your computer first and install from there. It might have gotten corrupted the first time you tried it. You will have to email them using the form for the newest release notes and the installation instructions:http://www.akaipro.com/mpc2500 http://www.akaipro.com/content1924.html and http://www.akaipro.com/mpc2500 are the URLs you need. Hope this helps.

I am having my akai mpc2500 fixed and fully upgraded, the engineer has found a problem with the IDE line, apparently the hard drive and cd drive will not work with the machine he has tried a couple of

Hello there,
You dont say what was wrong when you said it was being 'fixed' and a Hard Drive and/ or CD added.
Has it been updated to V1.24 software which fixes a bug in hard drives formatting ? As per the release notes. http://www.akaipro.com/product/mpc2500#downloads

I would very much doubt there is problem with the IDE interface UNLESS this was the original reason you were having it fixed.

I would take it to the AUTHORISED AKAI PRO Dealer to have it inspected.and a PROPER understandable report given to you if the Machine still won't accept a Hard Drive or a CD mechanism.
Go to bottom of page here For AKAI PRO dealer near you. It cannot hurt to get a second opinion.

When i go to format my cf card in the mpc, the mpc does not allow the do it button to be pressed. when i press it nothing happens it does not even blink red.

Check that your CF card is NOT biggerr than the unit allows... read the specs. A lot of equipment is having trouble with the larger memory cards. Unfortunately the smaller ones are almost non-existent.

Im trying to connect my mpc 2500 with pro tools 8. im using an mbox 2 pro as my interface. I can get pro tools and the mpc to sync...but i cant seem to understand why i cant hear any of my samples from the...

Check if the Mbox2 has an echo setting that echos the audio from its input. If you want the audio to loop through the PC then it will have to echo there instead. Check that in "Sound and devices" of the PC are all set to transfer via the MBox for voice and playback instead of the internal PC audio system.

How do you wipe out everything and put back regular settings on the mpc 2500

from the akai forums:

to set the os back to factory settings press and hold the erase key till the mpc has booted to the main screen.

to erase the harddisk goto either the load or save screen and then choose utility - there you will find the option to format the hdd.

you can also format the drive (or any inserted compact flash-card) from your computer thru the usb connection, but it is recommended to use the internal format because the mpc can be a little picky when you format it from the outside.

at first i would check if there is any folder or the internal memory is set to autoload and just turn that of or point it to another folder of you choice. that way you can keep the factory delivered sounds. maybe you want to use them later, even if it is just to explore the mpc. the factory sounds can be also downloaded later, but be advised that there are different iterations of the stock sounds, depending on whether your mpc shiped with a 32 or 128mb compact flash card.

also the mpc os is not on the harddrive but in the internal memory. to check the version hit mode-> pad10. latest official version is os 1.24. if your main srceen looks different than in the manual check double and triple before you do anything, because the previous owner might have installed the third party jj os which comes in different versions. some of them cost a lot of money! if you find this check the other forum here for the alternative os.

I purchased an akai mpc 2500 used and it came with sounds and sequences all ready occupied, how do I delete all these sounds, or restore its factorys settings?

Try holding erase while you turn it on. You may have to turn off autoload also. You'll have to read the manual first ( pages 110 and 114 especially ) available here:http://www.mpcsounds.com/download_akai_mpc_manual.php It depends I think on whether the previous user saved to memory card or the internal HD.

I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO SET UP MY ROLAND JUNO D WITH MY AKAI MPC 1000, PARTICULARLY HOW TO SET UP THE MIDI ON THE ROLAND.

Simple way is MIDI out from Juno to MIDI in on MPC, then (depending on how you want to work), connect MIDI out from MPC to the in on the Juno. If you do this you MUST turn local control off on the Juno or else you'll get double triggers (internal + msg in from MPC). Now to record sequences on MPC , set MIDI to as track in setup window (on the 2500, this is accessed by pressing MODE then pad 9, then press button under the corresponding tab [on LCD]) then set your MIDI channel by port, meaning if your MIDI cable is physically connected to out A, in your LCD in bottom right corner it will show as follows: 1A. This indicates you are transmitting on MIDI channel 1; port A. Remember, MIDI IS NOT AUDIO!!!!! Since the Juno is a synth and not a workstation, all transport controls are handled by the MPC, that's pretty much it... Hope this helps a little, enjoy!

P.S. Go to mpc-forum.com its THE sh**! They also have links for their e-book I have one for the 2500 and its awesome!!!

When I have my instrument cables coming out of the stereo outs of my mpc 2500 but it out come out mono. I don't know how to make it come out stereo. Is my mpc 2500 broke

To get stereo you must record in stereo or "PAN" individual inputs to one side or the other to create seperation. Your device is NOT broke.

Read your manual about panning.
