Fault Light/ inverter failure

the current from the 12volt supply is not sufficient try a fully charged car battery instead, your inverter needs 30 amps and above of current from 12 volt power supply

Monitor won't turn on after a few hours of being shut off

If it EVER works, then the problem is not a failed part, but a weak part. The most likely component type to give you such problems are capacitors. But very few repair techs know how to find such problems, and even fewer have the equipment needed to find the bad one(s) in-circuit. The failure mode is high ESR (ESR means Equivalent Series Resistance). The lower the ESR, the better. Capacitors with high ESR cannot stabilize circuits which demand high pulse currents, such as in switch mode power supplies.

Red stand by light blinking continuously black screen

It cannot be reset fully unless it comes on and stays on (the model you have listed here.)

That set should have a blink error code--watch the red power light to see if blinking in a number sequence like 7blinks pause and repeats over and over.

Dryer wont start?

Make sure the power circuit to the dryer is energized, the dryer is plugged in, and the door is fully closed.

Then, a faulty door switch or start switch is the most likely cause of your problem. Other part failures can also produce the same symptoms: thermostat, thermal fuse, motor centrifugal switch, etc.

Dell Inspiron 9400 laptop display problem

First power the system on using Fn+Power and see if the diags run and you have video. If you have video in the diagnostics, then I'd suspect the video card as the failure point.
Also connect an external monitor and press Fn + F8 to activate the VGA port If you get video on an external monitor, I'd suspect the LCD as the failure point.

Monitor L17AMTN flashes WinXP desktop, then blanks.

dmellman, Before you open it up, try this! With fully booted pc and WIN DESKTOP screen up, reconnect the L17AMTN . Have a bright flashlight handy so that when the lcd screen flashes on for 1 second and then goes dark, you will want to check to see if the desktop remains on the screen even though you think it went away. Shine the light 1-2 inches from screen at different angles. Has the desk top completely disappeared or is it still being displayed? Do you know about Cold-Cathode-Fluorescent tubes and their Inverter type power supply? I assume that this unit also has a "lay on floor black box switch-mode-power-supply" that is supposed to supply raw 12v-14v dc to the monitor? This symptom is typical of lcd monitor power supply failure, and or inverter board failure. Not to mention the fact that the CCFT's could be a bit tired from use. YOUTUBE has some videos on taking apart lcd monitors. also do search on web for "bad caps on lcd boards" or "bad caps in lcd monitors". I should think that this Tatung might suffer from swollen cap-itis. get back to me with results of your investigation. Im louie12fix on fixya or [email protected] just nrth of Windy City
