Ps3 system update error 8002F310

1. Download the update onto a USB stick using your pc. (Hopefully you have one). Create a new folder named UPDATE and drag the file into it. Then create a folder called PS3 and drag the 'UPDATE' folder into that. Note the folders must be in capitals.....
2. Underneath your console is a small panel near the front that pops open to reveal a small screw. Unscrew it and then remove a bigger panel on the actually front of the console to reveal the hard drive. It has a wire handle that will help you remove the hard drive. (Don't take it out yet)
3. Turn your console on and when the update loop begins take the hard drive out. After a minute or so it will realise this has happened and a error message will appear and a 60 second countdown will start. Let this time countdown and allow the console to restart. ( a post a read on a forum said that the console will restart on a screen that will allow you to download the update via USB but is did not happen for me and the system said it was unable to start because it could not detect a hard drive.)
4. Turn the console totally off and insert the hard drive. Turn it back on and as it is beginning to start carefully take the hard drive back out. Then a screen will hopefully appear that says to connect your controller to the USB wire and press the ps button. Do this and then it will give you the option to update via USB. Insert your USB drive and press start and select on your controller.
5. Then comes a step that I can't really explain and is the trial and error part of the process. When the system is searching for the USB update I inserted the hard drive. On the first try it didn't find the update and a error message appeared, but as I tried the whole process again it found the update and completely the process. I didn't lose any saves and more importantly, didn't pay a penny!!

When we play ps3 and we try to change the options in the game the error 8003051E comes and the file does not save. even during the play the game cannot authomatic save. so everytime we need to start from...

HI,
Things You'll Need:

* PlayStation 3
* External hard drive

Unplug any external hard drive that may be attached to the PS3.

Restart the PS3, including unplugging it and plugging it into the power supply again.

Format the file you are trying to save to be less than 2 GB in size. The main reason you are getting this error (game will not save) is due to the large file you tried to save.

Connect the external hard drive to your PS3 again and save the file. The error should not occur again.

Dead PS3

Unfortunately not, if the PS3 will not turn on then you have no way to access the date.

The issue is that the PS3 encrypts the data so you can not even pull the drive and put it in another PS3 because the encryption code is unique to each PS3.

So with this in mind I have been recommending to my customers that if they have a PS3 that they should look at getting an external drive instead of upgrading the hard drive. This way they have a place to save there game files to uncase the PS3 dies or the hard drive goes out.

Let me know if you have any more questions

Putting old hard drive in new ps3 to get game saves error

You cannot switch a hard drive from an old ps3 and put it into the new one. The new ps3 will know that a new hard drive was inserted and offer to format it.

To get the games off the old hard drive, put it back into the old ps3. Insert a USB flash drive into a USB port on the PS3 and you should be able to copy saved games from the hard drive onto the USB flash drive. You can then plug the USB flash drive into your new ps3 and copy off the saved game info,

My files on my hard disk are corrupted whaat do i

You can try taking out the hard drive from the ps3 and hook it up to a computer that has SATA connections. Then copy the files to a flash drive. This way you can at least save the information from the hard drive.

At that point, put a new SATA hard drive into the PS3 and format the drive. Then at that point put the information that you saved to the flash drive onto the ps3 hard drive. Do this all in the computer after you format the new drive in the ps3 and then put it into the computer to copy the files from the flash drive into the new hard drive.

Not saving games lost files seems to be corrupted

You can try to reformat the entire hard drive, or you can buy a new hard drive.

To reformat the drive, in the PS3 menu:
NOTE: This will erase everything you saved on the hard drive.

1) Go to the Settings menu, then select System Settings.
2) Select Format Utility, then select Format Hard Disk.
3) Select Quick Format

To replace the Hard Drive, buy any 2.5 inch notebook hard drive that has a serial ATA connection. Then remove the old hard drive from the left side of the PS3 and install the new hard drive.

Ps3

most likely your hard drive is full.
Go to Settings-System settings-System information. it should tell you free space on your hard drive from your total available space.
Your drive is probably filled with demos and saved data from previous games, maybe music or even dowloaded movies.
If still had the same issue after the restore there is a chance that your hard drive was swapped for a very small one. ckeck the system info first:

Free space : 12 GB/37 GB this is for a 40 gb

If that is the problem you need a different hard drive (SERIAL ata 5400 rpm ).. upgrading the hard is easy.. or even go with an external drive.
