The TV might have an auto programing function, which should tune in all available channels that are being delivered thru the cable/from the cable company.

this TV will not tune modern cable signals. You must use a set-top box with a TV that is this old.

Can't get all of my cable channels on auto program

Try to direct enter with the numbers on the remote missing channels one at a time and if get them add them manually using the feature in the main menu.

Be aware you might be better off with a cable box connected to the rear audio and video inputs on this set--hooked up that way you put the set to that input and change channels with the box plus no programming needed.

I have a Panasonic PV-V4525S VCR and I'm trying to program it to work with the Comcast cable. Right now it will only record the same channel that the TV is on and I have to tell the VCR to record channel...

If your using digital cable it will only record channel 3 or 4 depending on what your cable box is set to...In order for it to record different channels it needs a cable source plugged directly into it. You will only be able to record standard cable channels 1-125. If it's digital cable forget about... you can only record it with channel 3/4 a solution to this would be using a 2nd digital box.. "auto-programming" may be limited even with a 2nd cable box. If your only using standard cable 1-125... you can use the TV/VCR button it will switch between the tuner of the TV & VCR allowing you to record while you watch a different show... keep in mind this won't work for digital channels which if I'm not mistaken comcast has already converted all channels to digital even basic.

How do i program my channels

Hello
Your Toshiba tv can be automatically tuned to all stations. The procedure follows.

Programming channels automatically

Your TV can automatically detect all active channels and store them in

its memory. After the TV has stored the channels in its memory automatically,

you can add or erase channels manually.

To add channels automatically:

1. Press MENU, then press "left arrow" or "right arrow" button to display the SETUP menu.

2. Press "Up arrow"or "down arrow" until the TV/CABLE

selection is highlighted.

3. Press "left arrow" or "right arrow" button to highlight either

TV or CABLE, depending on which you use.

If you use an antenna, choose TV.

If you use cable, choose CABLE.

4. Press "down arrow" button until the CH PROGRAM selection is highlighted.

5. Press "left arrow" or "right arrow" button to start channel programming. The TV will automatically

cycle through all the TV or Cable channels (depending on which you

selected), and store all active channels in the channel memory.

While the TV is cycling through the channels, the message

"PROGRAMMING NOW-PLEASE WAIT" appears.

6. When channel programming is complete, the message "COMPLETED"

appears.
7. Press CH UP or DOWN button to view the programmed channels.
OK.

No channel 3, the tv goes from channel 2 to 4, can't use the cable box

Two options...

1. Connect the Cable Box via RCA cables (Yellow/Red/White) or Component cable if you have a HD cable box and select the appropriate input on the TV to view your programs. This will provide the best picture quality as well.

2. Make sure the cable box is on. Using the original TV remote type in the channel 03 and if this tunes to the channel then go to the TV menu and then go to Set up and then select add/erase and select add.

If typing 03 did not tune in channel 3 then using the TV remote select menu then go to set up and then make sure TV / Cable is set to cable then on the cable box press the channel button a couple of times and then select auto program on the tv.

Only getting some channels to come in...

Check your latest phone bill and see if you have a basic extended package. If you dont you may have been downgraded to only get basic cable which is 2-13.

The auto program adds every channel that the television can detect.

Akai VSG285 video - I can't tune any TV stations thru to the VCR?

This sounds like a hookup or programming problem.

The typical hookup is cable/satellite box output to VCR antenna/RF input, then VCR antenna/RF output to television input. Since you are able to watch pre-recorded tapes, the latter is already correct. There are other ways to connect, using the audio/video outputs of VCR to audio/video inputs of the TV. Older or low end TV sets may not have these connections.

If by chance you are using an outdoor antenna (not cable or satellite) then the antenna connects to VCR antenna/RF input and VCR output as above. You will also need to program the VCR into the stations- most late VCRs will scan for active channels, and program themselves to those channels.

I'm not sure of the capabilities of newer cable & sat boxes, but generally, you had to tune that box to the channel you wanted to record. The VCR is set to channel 3 or 4 depending on the output of the cable box.

Lastly, most VCRs of the last 10+ years require the remote to setup advanced functions, such as timed record, date & channel setup functions. The buttons on the VCR itself only do very basic functions, Stop/Play/Rewind/F-forward/Eject etc.

If you don't have the orig. remote, some universal remotes may be able to do advanced programming functions.

Program satelite or cable

you are not specific as to programming cable or satellite .if you have cable tv with a cable box there is no need to program tv channels.the tv should be left on channel 3.check the back of the cable box & tv it may also be connected thru rca/s-video or componant cables meaning the tv should be on a line in/source ,or video input. for a tv without a cable box
you can do the auto or manual programming. no need to be on channel 3. if you have satelllite tv you need the box to hook up to your tv.you cannot bypass this box unlike cable tv.also check the back of the box for the other possible connections
good luck

Tv channels

Probably, at first you searched the programs in automatic way. And there were only 20 channels at that time. So, you only have 20 channels. You should try to search channel 21, 22, 23, etc, manually. If you can't set 21 on your program, then your tv set has only 20 programs.
