28 year old Jenny Lind Crib

Having problems putting it together. Not sure if I put the springs in right for holding the mattress and the drop down rail is not staying up. I bought the crib at Sears in 1981. I would like to have an instruction manuel that would show pictures

How do you put together a drop side Bassett Jenny Lind Crib from the 1980's.

Other than the old Trial and Error way, there are some resouces on line. It is easy to figure out how to construct the crib without having the original instructions. You should be able to put the crib together within one hour. It may take longer if you have to search for parts. Check the link below and I bet you'll find some helpful info! By the way, make sure the crib you are setting up was not recalled or pulled from the market for safety reasons!

Can be a Jenny lind Evenflo Crib converted to a toddler bed?

i believe that the crib is one of the few that can not be, but I would definitely think about a twin bed since he is two and skip the toddler bed since both my kids were in their toddler beds for less then a year save your self the hassle and money get a twin bed, and for now just put the top mattress on and store the box springs (or merely wait to buy them until needed)

Instructions to the Evenflo Jenny Lind Crib

The springs (I am presuming you mean the little springs, not the springs for the mattress placement) go on the little rod that the side of the crib slides up and down on. They should be at the bottom of the slide bar. This is to keep it from just dropping with a bang and creating injury.

Do you have a friend with a child/baby crib that you could take a photos of, use it as directions? Sometimes the simplest thing in trying to remember the order of putting it together is befuddling.

Another idea, see if there is a store that carries that crib, tell them you don't have the instructions to reput it back together, they may take it from the box, zerox it for you for free. Unless you have a brand name, googling won't get you the proper instructions either. My babies did not use a crib that had sides up and down.
