Canon PIXMA iP1800 InkJet Photo Printer Logo

Canon PIXMA ip1800 will not print. It tries to feed paper and then says there is paper jam. I've tried to see if any paper is lodged down on roller but can not see anything! Is there anyway to open the printer up further to detect where it may be jamming at? Manual is useless! Can only open top portion of printer but that doesn't tell a lot about what's going on. Thank you.

    PINEWORKS,
Thank you so much! I found your helpful advise during my search. I followed your instructions exactly and now the new rule of the house is "NO more snacking at the computer!!" Thank you again. I've tried for 2 days to figure out what exactly the paper jam could be.

    Hello there
You may not see a paper jam.

This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.

And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Your unit will need to be disassembled but with the proper disassembly instructions you may have further complications.
I suggest you contact the technical support for your device.

CANON PIXMA IP2200 DOES NOT FEED PAPER

Paper not feeding into Canon Pixma MP210 printer

Several suggestions here include printing a heavy card instead of regular paper, or turning the printer upside down to remove any object like a key stuck in the printer.

A piece of foam sponge under the ink catridges has broken, and the printer will not cleanly draw paper for printing - it jams.

The sponge under the print cartridges is to soak up the ink when cleaning the print heads. If part of it broken off and lodged in the rollers where the paper is drawn into the printer then try to locate the sponge and remove it. Sounds like it's lodged somewhere and jamming the paper feed.

Paper not feeding into printer straight When printing the paper doesnt feed into printer straight anymore.

Firstly I would check the paper guides on the paper stand, then check the path, turn it upside down and look for debris, I once found my childs sticky sweet in mine. Then try to clean any rubber rollers.

Paper jammed but no paper is jammed.

Sounds like something has fallen into the paper path. Use a flashlight and small mirror to look down the slot where the paper goes. You may have to use a straightened paper clip or the like to help remove the obstruction.

Paper pulls to the right, jams, won't print, tried different paper still won't print

Hi,
Sounds like the feed rollers need cleaning.
Clean the feed rollers, lint free cloth, bottled water.
wait for them to properly dry

Revolve the feed roller bar as you clean them, to clean the feed rollers all the way round, remove all particles from them.

Check you ADF grips are set correctly, if not you will get mis-fed sheets. check the tray is sat properly too or mis-feeds.

Check paper size is correct in print properties too.
Should be good then
Try print.

Regards
Richard.

Printer either eats up paper or won't print anything out

what you might try is to find some thing that has been laminated on both sides and manuall feed it in to the feed rollers and see if you are able to push out what ever is in the paper path making your paper go in crooked. brother tech

Paper jam

Don't know if it's the same problem i had but its maybe worth a try. Mine is a Canon MP160 but again its maybe worth a try.
My paper went in a little, the wheels were turning but it didn't take the rest of the paper or print.
Someone replied to my problem, i tried it and it fixed 1st time. Also seems to of worked for others

Solution:- Use a piece of thin card, a magazine cover is what i used, make sure its A4 size then try to print something, as the paper starts moving push it through! and hey presto it worked for me, everything printing fine now
