I have a hitachi ultravision projection tv. It is around 50 plus inches. It turns off about every 10 seconds.Then the picture and sound comes on for a second. The red power light stays on the whole time. The tv is about 6 to 7 years old. The tv has been fine, it just started doing this.
Your Guru didnt even know this set is a plasma, look for the main filters on the power supply, the big ones to see if the tops of them are crowned these new sets are very particular when it comes to filtering.
Ur tv projection bulb,been a long time had not been replaced?If the the bulb been,replaced the ballast might be dead.
