Useing a multimeter set to d.c check your charge at the battery whith out the motor running it should read above 12 volts determine the voltage stored in the battery with the meter stil conected hit the start button if the meter shows a dramatic drop in voltage its almost certain that the battery is shot howevwer if the voltage does not drop & it wont start bump start it conect the meter still set on dc increase the revs asyou do this the voltage should climb to 13.50 if it does & maintains 13.50 to 13.65 the chargeing system can be declared ok & you only need replace the battery however if it goes above 14 volts the voltage regulator is faulty & cooking the battery so you will need to replace both

Stator area

I'm not familiar with that particular bike, but usually there's no problem with starting it with the cover off. If the repair would require any structural strength JB Weld wouldn't be satisfactory. Epoxy or JB Weld would be ok if you just needed to fill up a crack or hole to keep out moisture.

NO SPARK ON A 98 RM 125

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, test for the presence / absence of below described voltages using an analog / needle type voltmeter when starting the bike:
  • pulsating low AC voltage coming from the pickup coil;
  • pulsating voltage feeding the ignition coil.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

I ordered a new stator for a 2003 kawasaki ninja zx6r 636. ive been looking for manuals but cant find any. ive had a friend taking apart different parts on the bike for the last hr and we cant find where...

It should be bolted to the bolted to the inside of the left crankshaft/engine cover.

I found this 2005 manual, but it should still be the same for the locations ,and you can get it here for free:

You will need to have winrar to open it ,and open service and go to page 491

I have to jump my bike and when i disconnect the jumper cables by bike dies and i have no power. where do i start to look for the problem

I have a generic answer for you, this is a problem with your charging system, alernator, regulator.
this is a good site for used parts if needed. heres a site for a manual. >http://www.themotorbookstore.com/suzuki-tl1000-manual.html<
Now I would start looking for a blown fuse, then wiring to & from the alternator, which will be loacated in one of the side covers, (look for a bundle of wires going in) look at any plugs and the metal conectors inside for hot or cooked wiring. repost what you find.

Charging problem/no start 95 ninja zx6r

If lights dim when trying to start,Battery is to weak(may have 12 volts but not enough amps)
Bike dieing when removing power from jumper says the lighting coil on the stator plate is bad and this could also have killed the voltage regulator,Which would kill the battery by over charging it.
Hesitation and carbon smell could be from a non firing cylinder.

So,Take the battery and have it load tested (free at most auto part stores)
Check for power from the lighting coil on the stator
Replace the voltage regulator.
