I need to know the model of your panasonic camera, for example pv-gs19.

then I can provide you with the software and drivers and tell you how its done.

You need to call panasonic and order the optional software cd for your camcorder, the cd will contain USB, WEBCAm, and other related software.

USB drivers allows you to transfer still images from the memory card into the computer

webcam drivers let you use the camcorder as a internet camera to let other people view the image / video over the internet

and the other software includes program to capture your dv tapes to your computer.

etc.

The user manual contains instructions on how to install the drivers.

I need drivers

Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren,
ich bitte Sie um Hilfe für einen Treiber für meinen Mini-DV-Panasonic-Camcorder NV-GS17
(24 x optical zoom)-weil ich sonst keine DV-Inhalte auf den PC übertragen kann,-weil der
o.a.Camcorder nicht vom System erkannt wird!Eine Verknüpfung wird nicht anerkannt!?
Oder gibt es eine andere Lösung für mein Problem???
Ich danke Ihnen sehr für Ihre Hilfe,-mit freundlichem Gruss......Helmut Scholz

1. Copy the video to your computer with WinDV. No "capturing" involved. The video resolution and PAL/NTSC format will be the same as the source.
2. Then convert to whatever format you like.

You could also use something that copy and converts the video directly from the DV, like convert to dvd with Ulead DVD Workshop.
DV is a fixed standard and comes in 50Hz and 60Hz versions.

50Hz ("PAL" 625/50) 720x576, 25fps interlace (aka 576i)
4:2:0 components, 25Mb/s Video Rate
LPCM audio 2ch 16bit 48KHz or 4ch 12bit 32kHz

60Hz ("NTSC" 525/60) 720x480, 29.97fps interlace (aka 480i)
4:1:1 components, 25Mb/s Video Rate
LPCM audio 2ch 16bit 48KHz or 4ch 12bit 32kHz

Meaning, You cannot change the camera. It is either a pal camera or a ntsc camera. Othewise you will have to by a firmware update from the manufacture's website.
