If the RX-733 is similar to the RX-773 then the Audio 1 and Audio 2 ports are audio inputs on the AV receiver. The AV 5 and AV 6 ports are for composite audio/video connections.
Read up on the myths and legends of bi-wiring (BUY wiring) and redeploy those amps and extra speaker wire to Zone 2 where they'll actually serve an audible purpose.
I got Yamaha RX-V3800 with intermittent power. Cause by capacitor C4 22nF 630V on the control power board. After replacing the capacitor, receiver again working OK!
It's possible it is some sort of interference pickup, but another possible I've come across a number of times on Yamahas is poor earth connections via the back panel.
All the circuit boards have earth connections on them and the screws holding them to the back panel form an earth bonding connection. Tighten all the screws on the back to eliminate this possibility. Costs nothing to try and may just solve it.
Does it work without PS3 attached? When receiver turns off, it is usually due to badly connected/configured speakers. Try powering on the receiver without speakers.
To get audio with this set up also hooked up analog audio RCA cables for the audio for each piece of equipment for 2 channel out put. Zone 2 will not out put a digital signal and this receiver will not down convert a audio signals to analog if using digital audio hook-ups.
Let me see if I understand. You have one HDMI cable linking your TV and AVR? This is only to send video and sound out to your TV from the AVR you will not be able to send sound back over this same cable. You'll have to use the TVs audio out and connect it to an input of the AVR. The "HDMI out" on the AVR is just that Out and not In.
