It could be several other things thermal fuse, thermal cut out, hi limit thermostat, dryer coils, heat sensor,or igniter. All of these parts are inexpensive and easy to test and replace. There is a video at www.appliancehelponline.com/servicemanual.html this will walk you thru the troubleshooting of these components. It may be a different model but the troubleshooting will be the same. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations. All parts come with installation instructions. Not all models are available. If you need help disassembling your machine there are videos of this also for most styles.

Dryer not hot enough only warm takes 3 times as long to dry a load checked lint filter and vent pipe all ok need new heating element??

no
the problem is the felts around your drum in the front and back that got worn out in time and usage,
you need to replace them so the heat stay in the drum and not leak out.

Fellowes 3011001 shredder stopped shredding. tried to remove shredded pieces but could not.

First, try switching to reverse, alot of times, stuck paper will come back out in reverse. Then unplug the unit, turn the head upside down and with a small flathead screwdriver, knife, or tweezers, dig out pieces of paper. It takes alot of effort but by digging small pieces out, a little at a time, you can get most of the paper free.

Purging ge profile smart dispense dishwasher

How to Purge Incorrect Liquid Detergent from the Bulk Dispenser

The purge routine operates the bulk dispenser pump continuously to drain the bulk dispenser tank when an incorrect liquid was poured in the tank. The process consists of setting up the dishwasher to run the purge mode, running the purge mode and then cleaning up the purged detergent.

Follow these steps carefully to have a successful purge run.

For Top Control Models:
  1. Make sure Pre-wash, Added Heat and Heated Dry LEDs are off.
  2. Press Heated Dry and Down Arrow buttons together for 3 seconds. All LEDs will illuminate.
  3. Press Added Heat and Up Arrow buttons together for 3 seconds. The Anti-bacteria LED will illuminate
  4. Press Start button one time
  5. Select Normal and make sure Pre-wash, Added Heat and Heated Dry LEDs are off.
  6. Press Start button one more time and dishwasher will run a complete cycle without the main motor running. Cycle is complete when the Clean light illuminates. This should take approximately 60 minutes.
  7. Open door and wipe up excess detergent from the door and tub
  8. Flush remaining detergent off by pouring water on the door and tub where there is detergent residue.
  9. Remove SmartDispenser cap and fill tank with water and then replace cap.
  10. Repeat Steps 1 through 9 one time.
  11. Then, repeat Steps 1 through 6. When the Clean LED illuminates, the system is purged and ready to be refilled with the correct detergent.
Front Mount Controls (same as above except for the changes in the two below steps):

2. Press Heated Dry and Cookware together for 3 seconds. All LEDs illuminate.

3. Press Added Heat and Cookware together for 3 seconds. The Anti-bacterial LED illuminates.

My dryer takes forever to dry clothes!

Depending on the size of your loads, it could very well be that you have the dryer past it's "normal" capacity. This happens quite frequently around my house and the Mrs. will turn the dryer on two-three times on one load, but it's usually overloaded.

As per your question about the belt and it not spinning the drum fast enough, if the belt was slipping, you would smell the rubber burning as it slid over the drum.

As per the heating element, there is no such thing as it burning out. It is either working or IS burned out. there is no middle ground with electric elements.

Might I suggest you try making your loads smaller and see if you get different results. Always know that denim and heavy t-shirts, by default, are gonna take longer because they are more dense.

If, after going through these few steps, you are getting no new results, verify the blower is working properly by placing a few wash cloths, or other light pieces of clothing, and see how long it takes for those to dry.

Lastly, make sure you don't have your exhaust hose crimped or the outside vent is not completely stopped up(though I think you have already gone through these few steps) as this can cause a nasty fire and we don't want that.

Hope this helps.

Whirlpool Dryer LGQ9508PW0 flame comes on and shuts off after 30 seconds.

this might actually be normal, whats the complaint??? to long to dry clothes maybe 2-3 cycles??? would be a common complaint. in which id check to make sure vent is not clogged anywhere, especially where exiting the home if he venting is ok id replace the coils atop the gas valve, possible and common for that matter that after running for 20-30 min they do not reopen and dont allow flem to reignite... part number 279834 retails for about $20 easy enough repair.... reason for flame to go on and turn off after only 30 secs is that in an empty dryer 30 secs of heat may be enough to satisfy the thermostat, that's alot of heat for an empty dryer, it would remain on for longer with a load of wet clothes absorbing the heat
