Heater turned over and oil spilled out. What kind and how much oil to refill? How and where to refil the heater with oil?

  • Anonymous Apr 16, 2010

Evidently you did not understand the question (oil spilled out). Even though if the system is closed there has to be a way to refil with oil. Please re-evaluate your answer and provide a usable solution.

How do you refill the oil?

Did it leak out? Most oil-filled heaters are sealed and not intended to be refilled.

How does one refill lakewood heater ?

These are sealed oil heaters and do not require refilling, if yours is leaking then it is bad and should be disposed of. They should not use oil or leak oil ever.

Where do you refill the oil at

Oil heaters are not meant to be refilled. The oil is inside the heater already. If you need to add oil, the heater is defective. Do not use it.

Delonghi 5 fin 700/800/1500w, oil filled heater.

It sounds like you have a lemon. The heat exchanger tube has developed a hole somewhere. These things are designed for the small element inside to heat up the oil, and that is supposed to radiate the heat. It would be dangerous to use without any kind of oil. The element would burn out hopefully before it started a fire, but not necessarily. I don't know what kind of oil they use, but its a thin viscosity, like some turbine oil. You can patch the hole and try some pump oil or something, but I personally don't think its a good idea. I wouldn't do it.
