Too much soap or wrong kind of detergent if HE washer. Run the washer empty with 2 tsp of cooking oil. The soap will attatch itself to the oil and remove the excess detergent residue.

The code Sd means that suds were detected. Generally this means you used regular detergent instead of the HE detergent. Less often it indicates that you used more detergent than needed for the load.

Remember to use an HE (high efficiency) detergent and to follow the directions for the amount to use in a wash cycle.

The washer should do a suds correction program to make sure that the clothes are fully rinsed. However, if the code remains and the wash cycle dial is flashing, set your washer to repeat the cycle with cold water without adding additional detergent. (Every portion of the wash cycle will be extra rinses.)

This typically happens when you use regular detergent instead of HE detergent, which stresses the pumps. Are you using HE detergent?
Also check for blocked drain hose or clogged water filter.

Hello. If this is a newer washer of the HE type, be sure to use HE detergent only. IF it is not HE, do not use HE detergent. Instead use dry or liquid and remember this less is more! DO not use more detergent than it takes to get the job done. Start with one tablespoon of liquid or 2 tablespoons of dry and see how it does. As long as there are a few suds during the wash cycle you know you have enough soap. IF you have hard water you may need to increase the amount a wee bit if you are not seeing any suds during the wash cycle. Joe

The error is actually "SD", or more commonly known as "SUD". This is commonly caused by either using too much detergent, using the wrong type of detergent (using regular detergent instead of HE), or a something clogging the drain pump. Use the HE rated detergent. The 2x detergent is a consentrated form of the old detergent formula. 2x is fine in a top load machine. Oversudsing will occur in front load machines causing F code errors.

3 - Select Cycle
4 - Load the Clothes Washer (add detergent on top of the load in the tub, and additives [fabric softener, bleach] in their dispensers).
5 - Start the washer.
This is according to the owner's manual I have. Has worked for 9 years for me.
