I had one that had the "needs cleaning" light was on. After cleaning, the light stayed on. I checked around at the time and learned it couldn't be fixed, and it was out of warrantee. I believe that's why they stopped making them. Mine was just thrown away.
It would appear that the machine is not receiving power for some reason.
1) Check the plug in the back. Make sure it is inserted firmly! Determine if the wall outlet is live. Turn the machine on with the manual front switch and with the remote control. If the manual control works, but the remote does not, make sure the plastic shipping shield has been removed from the battery end of the remote. (Just pull on the little tab, if there is one.) Also check the remote battery if the remote controls don't work, but the manual ones do.
2) Make sure the little safety switch has the "I" end depressed and the "0" end out.
3) Unplug the machine, and check the fuse right beside the plug. Replace it with the EXACT same size, available from an auto parts store.
4) Carefully inspect the inside of the machine, looking for wires which are loose, corroded, broken, or missing. If you can't replace these yourself, find an electronics person who can do it for you.
5) Make sure the back screen is inserted firmly so that the internal safety switch is depressed. (You'll hear it click when the screen is in position.)
If none of these troubleshooting steps help, the problem is most likely in the computerized controls or motherboard, and that cannot be repaired. Vollara (EcoQuest's new name) is no longer manufacturing nor servicing the Breeze. However, if you call customer service (800-989-2299) they can give you some upgrade options. Your other solution is to try to find a dealer who has Breezes in stock and who might also have the spare computer components.
1) Make sure the plug in the back is inserted firmly. 2) The little switch by the plug should have the "I" end depressed and the "0" end up. 3) Check to make sure the back screen is inserted firmly, depressing the interior safety switch. (It will click when positioned correctly). 4) Try both the manual and remote controls. If the manual controls work, but the remote ones do not, check to see if the little plastic battery shield is still in the remote. Remove it by pulling on the little tab. If that's not the issue, also try a new battery in the remote. 5) Remove the plug in back, and pull out the fuse to see if it is blown. If so, replace it with the EXACT same size fuse, available at an auto parts store.
Likely so these units usually put out ozone into the air in your home which is a known lung irritant. If you truly have indoor air quality issues the only way to properly attack it is through three steps
source control - what's causing it(uv lights to kill it usually)
ventilation - bring in fresh outdoor air and exhaust stale indoor air(ERVs and HRVs depending on your climate some dealers won't sell these if they don't offer it to you they are dumb find someone who does they are Recovery Ventilators)
filtration - a whole home filtration system (look to dealers who carry Lennox who is the only company with a 100% ozone free product line and the highest filtration rates available on the market "MERV 16" filters or Trane is ok as well as Carrier systems)
The blue means the germicidal lamp is operating. Re: green light - Normal operation at all power levels involves a pre-programmed cycle of altering high and low air movement. Press the the green to override the regular power control setting and run the unit at maximum power for five minutes. Your previously selected power level will resume after the five minutes has elapsed.
