Yes you would have to have them on seperate analog phone lines and 1 would have to dial the other. To add a 3rd party you have hit the flash button dial the other party, connect, and hit flash again.

What are the differences between video conference and teleconference?

Here are some differences between video conference and teleconference.

1. Teleconferencing is voice-only or audio-video communication, while video conferencing supports the conference by providing both the video and voice, so that you can absolutely see the person when you are listening to the communicator.
2. Teleconferencing is capable of transmitting the data during the conferencing either using traditional PBX systems or VoIP while video conferencing is offering VoIP services. The formal is less bandwidth intensive while the latter is heavily dependent on the networking broadband.
3. Apart from audio and video data transmitted during the conference that teleconferencing can provide, video conferencing can also enable you to share more information like files, applications, whiteboard and etc.

How do I mute on a conference call with a Mitel 4025?

The "mic" button on the mitel telephone is your MUTE button. However, this may not work if you are taking the call on the handset (depending on the version of Mitel software on the main control). In this situation the MUTE button only works on handsfree (speakerphone) calls. Note well - if your office phone system has Music-On-Hold then **DO NOT** put a conference call on hold. MOH is extremely disruptive to other parties on the call,
Hope this helps.

Why does the message light not blink when i have messages on my mitel superest 4025 phone

The Message Waiting Indicator lamp on the Mitel SS4025 is set and cleared by the main system controller (back room equipment) and is further dependent on the integration between the system controller and the voice mail server. Depending on the type (age) of Mitel main control, the voice mail could be built-in to the Mitel system itself or a separate stand alone server, such as an Octel (Avaya) system. In any event this problem needs to be reported to your phone system maintenance person. Any competent Mitel System tech should be able to resolve the problem for you quickly.

MITEL 5303 Conference Phone question: during connection of a few numbers and 1 number is busy - how do you drop that call without dropping all parties connected?

I believe that if you reach a busy signal, you can hang up. The conference should ring you back and the rest of the conference will be there.

Here's what the documentation shows from within the help of a 3300 ICP/MCD...

a 5303 is to be treated just like a 2500 series set...

2500, 5302 IP Phone, SUPERSET 401, SUPERSET 401+, and SUPERSET 4001 telephones:

To form a Conference when a two-party call is already in place, or to add another party to an existing Conference:

  1. Press Flash or flash the switchhook.

  2. Dial the number of the next party.

  3. Wait for an answer.

  4. Press Flash or Flash the switchhook.

  5. Dial the Conference Call Feature Access Code.

To Leave a Conference:

  • Hang up.

2500 telephone:

To split a Conference and speak privately with the original party:

  1. Flash the switchhook.

  2. Dial the Conference Call Split Feature Access code.

How do I start a conference call on a Mitel 5303 Conference Phone? It states it only hosts up to 8-10 people.

I'm assuming you are using this on a 3300 ICP. In that case, the phone system is only able to do 8 party conference calls without an external Conference server.
You can dial the first number, press the flash button, dial the next number, dial the feature code (get from your vendor), repeat until you have all parties as part of the call.

The 5310 IP conference unit works much easier than this phone. A conference bridge such as Audio Web Conference with the appropriate licensing will allow for extended conference calls... it will also allow you to record the call for later "off-air" participation.

Invalid Set Type Check CDE

The original setup of the phone was most likely done on a mitel 5224, you can only use this model or newer. The 5220 or 5215 will give this error when trying to replace the original phone. To use these phones, delete the extension and redo it.

MITEL 5303 Conf Ph

These are analog only phones using a POTs line if you've connected everything properly and all the cables are in fine condition no broken conductors or anything it should work. If the keypad lights up you only need to hit the very buttom button and you should get a dialtone. To make a call you may need to dial a 9 or 909 (depending on the phone system programming) to get an outside line if this connected on an anolog line through a PBX. Probably first test it using a working faxline. If you do not get a dialtone and all cabling looks good it maybe that keypad got dropped. I have one that has been knocked off of a table - someone tripped over the cord - noone will admit it but through testing I've discovered it's in the keypad end, symptons being no dialtone.

Need ''short'' cord pinout for Mitel 5303

I have made these cords up before, this cord only uses 2 conductors so a length of Cat3 (station wire) 3 pair or less would be more than enough. Looking straight at the jack end with the tab facing down the pins are numbered from right to left, starting at 1 from the right to 4 or 8 depending on whether it is RJ11 or RJ45. On the RJ11 end pin 2 is red and pin 3 is white,on the RJ45 end pin 1 is red and pin 2 is white. That's it all you need is a crimper and the ends.
