Power will not stay on

Green power (timer) light comes on for about 3 seconds then shuts off. When I unplug it or reset the system the light blinks for about a minute and then stops, I turn it on and the green light comes on (solid green) for about 3 seconds and then goes off.

When I attempt to turn on the TV the green power light will stay on for about 2 seconds. Did system reset with paperclip, timer light flashed for 1 minute. Tried again with same result.

STANDARD ANSWER FOR THIS PROBLEM:

MOST OF THESE SETS HAVE A SELF DIAGNOSTIC:

UNPLUG TV AND THEN PLUG BACK IN---TURN ON---GREEN POWER LIGHT COMES ONFOR A MOMENT AND GOES OFF.

PRESS AND HOLD "device" and "menu"buttons on front of tv for at least 5 seconds and then release both together.

Watch for power light to blink in a sequence:

1 blink-then 2 blinks-------no error

2 blink-then 1 blink-------X-ray protection

2 blink-then 2 blink-------SHORT PROTECTION*******

2 blink-then 3 blink---------deflection circuit problem

2 blink-then 4 blink---------vertical circuit problem

******2, then 2 is most common---usually means one of the fuses that protectthe Convergence IC or IC's is blown---set will detect no voltage to convergenceIC and shut down.

SET WILL REPEAT BLINK ERROR CODE UP TO 5 TIMES ANDTHEN TO GET IT TO REPEAT MORE YOUHAVE TO UNPLUG SET AND TRY TO TURN ON AGAIN.

IF IT IS 2 AND THEN 2---USUALLY
CONVERGENCE CIRCUIT PROBLEM

let me know what you find--hope that you find 2 blinks, a pause and twoblinks--this is the most common and easiest to fix.

BEFORE YOU RATE THIS INFORMATION LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU FIND, i AM HERE TOP HELP.

My ws555-11 tv would not shut off, i unplugged it and now it will not come back on. i have pressed the reset button many times, the green timer light flashes for several seconds and it still will not...

RESET button activates the DM unit in the set (large metal box on left as you look from the back).

It should blink when reset or unplugged for about 70 seconds and then go out.

DOES POWER LIGHT COME ON FOR A SECOND OR TWO WHEN YOU TRY TO TURN SET ON?

THE MORE YOU CAN TELL ME THE BETTER I CAN HELP.

The tv just turns off after about 5 seconds and won't stay on. i've used the system reset and unplugged it already. no power surge, lightning storm, etc. Ideas?

If reset does not cure it and if after about 70 seconds of unplugging set the green power light stops blinking, do this:

When power light comes on and goes off, on the front of the set press and hold both the menu and input buttons at the same time for at least 5 seconds and RELEASE both buttons.

Power light should blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and repeat it four more times.

Let me know what error code you find and if this told you something you did not know, rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.

When i plug in my tv the screen stays black and wont come on

Hi my name is Roety,
I can help you with your issue ,
Your Mittsubishi has a system the will cause the green light to blink for 70 seconds when first plugged in, if the green light never stops blinking it is either a power supply issue or a stuck keyboard button.
So do the test and reset it to see if the light stops blinking or not.

If I have helped you with your issue
If you have more questions you can still respond
I will reply asap
Thanks

Blinking green timer light on front nearpower button keeps blinking, tv will not turn on, unplugged for 24 hours and tried again, also hit system reset and still nothing.

Thats a common problem when the caps on the DM need replacement. They will function fine untill power is interupted then the set will not complete the boot sequence when power is reapplied and the led will just continue to blink. Hers a link to the kit that will usually repair that issue the kit comes with instructions.

Mitsubishi WS73713 - Now working - Timer light flashing.

My Mitsubishi WS-73713 had the same blinking green timer light problem and would not turn on. I tried the reset button and unplugging power to no avail. I found that by simultaneously holding down the remote control "power" button and "volume" button for about 30 seconds the blinking light would go out and a solid green light would come on. Even though the solid green light came on the unit would still not power up. After doing this several times however the unit did finally power up in a normal mode and appears to be working again. It's worth trying before calling in for an expensive repair. PS - From here on out I'm sticking with SONY or Toshiba sets which have given be great service.
