Replace the lamp. If the condenser is illuminating on the lamp driver, the power is making it to the lamp. If the lamp is not lighting... it's the lamp. I hope this helps.

HV power supply is out (drives the light behind the lcd screen)..
Open monitor and look at power supply board for capacitors which are "balooning" or deformed in any way. These look like cylindars on the board. These tend to dry out and make what you are describing occur. Replacing them usually fixes about 80% of the problem you are describing. Those parts run about $0.25 to $0.75 each.. well worth trying, right?
Hello Carl, That problem could be caused by either bad capacitors on the power supply board or a bad back light bulb in the panel. The first thing to check would be the capacitors on the power supply board. Here is a link with a few pictures of how to dis-assemble the unit and what to look for. The tops of the capacitors should be flat, if they are domed or have any bulging then they need to be replaced. If all of the capacitors look good then it is most likely the back light bulb. This can be replaced by it is much more involved.
Hi, Your TV have problem with the back light inverter board. This type of complaint can occur under two circumstances. 1.Faulty electrolytic capacitor in the power supply board 2. The back light inverter board.

they used inferior capacitors in the power board,,,if you have it rebuilt using more superior capacitors it stops the problem....my TV repairman that worked exclusively with them found this problem out himself...this has happened to every samsung plasma he has worked on and after he fixed the issue it worked fine
