SOURCE: Wheel shaft seals on troy bilt pony 7 hp.

If the seal fits over the axle shaft it should be ok. be sure your axles are very clean as not to ruin the new seals when applying them. probably a good idea to replace them as a pair (right and left side) to save you time down the road.

SOURCE: how do i put a troy-bilt tiller 3 hp.into free

Knife333 is right, the hub pin method he described is the only way to disengage the wheels. The gearbox is not designed to be shifted in/out of gear, it is engaged full time. Foward and reverse movements are controlled by the drive belt direction only.

I just put a new carbuator on my troy tiller pony it is 23 years old ,still hard to start and will no idle very well.

There are many problems with small engines that can make them hard to start. The carburetor is one of them. Make certain that you have adjusted the new carburetor correctly. A good place to start is 1 1/2 to 2 turns counterclockwise from the closed position on the main fuel adjustment needle. Adjust in or out to best performance when engine is running. Some carburetors also have a fuel adjustment needle for the idle mixture. Start off with 1 to 1/2 turns counterclockwise from closed and adjust in or out to best idle performance. Other potential problems include bad spark plug, ignition system (points and condenser in your unit?) and a defective intake and/or exhaust valve.

Need gasket carbereter kit

I have been trying to help you. It appears that the "pony" model has submodels as well I will send you this link and please post back with which model is yours. Model numbers are the BIGGEST help I get, because I can research this machine all day and not have the correct carburetor for your exact model. Here are the current Troy Bilt "Pony" Tillers for sale on the net.

Sounds like you need to take the carb. apart and clean it. I like to use a Den Tek Brush, (used for cleaning teeth), to clean the small ports in carb. they work great for this job. Make sure to either clean or replace the small screen in thcarb. as well.
