I have a HL-P6163W, hooked to dish network hd

I have a Samsung HL-P6163W, hooked to dish network hd receiver with HDMI connection. The color wheel went bad about a year ago, very shortly after I bought it used. I then noticed that in darker pictures and facial tones were blotchy and not blended, causeing these areas to be blury. This may have been going on before the color wheel replacement but thought it was part of the color wheel problem. I was recommended by a tv tech after looking at the tv to replace the digital board because the problem accures on all inputs. So I just had that done and still have the problem. Any suggestions?

Fire the TV Tech! Your problem is the adjustment to the color wheel timing. To correct this: With TV OFF -> on remote, press MUTE, 1, 8, 2, POWER. The TV will come up in service mode: ( Left / Right arrow keys for item selection, Up / Down to change values, Menu to return to previous menu, Power to exit Service Mode)

Enter the submenu of item 1. DDP1011. Now, adjust item 4. INDEX DELAY to correct the "clay facing" problem you are having . Default value is 47.

You should have a "problem" image paused to check you work if possible. I hope this was of some assistance, best wishes.

There is a whining sound upon powering up my HL-P6163W which softens after about 5 minutes, but doesn't disappear completely. I think the source is either the color wheel or the cooling fan. How can I...

It the Colors wheel, cooling fan will shut down,if it start making noise to the fan, because the whole projection egine and the bulb link to it.The fan have to run a certain RPM to keep the tv running without problems. These colors wheels run 1000 RPM to start to give the tv colors and it make out Flexy glass and plastics. What ur opinion, who will give u the problems, first as parts wise.Ok any noises like whinning in the tv alway the colors wheel starting to buckle and warp.Getting worse make motor noises and briddles enough will brake and shatter it into ten of hundred of pieces.Who know, than inside what else will cause the rythum of the RMPS running of the tv,when u replaced it.

Samsung 61' DLP Color problem.

If you are using Component inputs, check to make sure that the Blue Video Cable has not backed out of its connecting jack at either end or the cable it's self being bad. If you are using HDMI I would suspect that the Digital Board being bad. It would be odd for the Color Wheel to cause the problem but cannot eliminate it as a cause. The Lamp would cause the picture to be darker but not cause a color to drop out.
I would call a professional to trouble shoot it unless you have the knowledge and the tools to do so.
Hope this helps,

Connecting an a/v receiver to a Dish network receiver

DO you have manuals for all the units listed?
If not , try the Samsung consumer site.
It would take me quite a while to figure out your situation even with manuals and I have a business to run besides.

Also, ask some questions of Tech Support at Samsung..Let them KNOW how much you spent on their stuff.

God bless,

Samsung dlp color issue

I just had a service tech out and replaced the color wheel. now i have the same issue with the color...the people all look blue. He told me that now the the digital board is bad. It's the board were all of the connections go. I'm not convinced, as I remember reading something about color settings needing to be adjusted after color wheel replacement.
