Repair and replace inside door handle drivers side in a 1995 Chevrolet truck 1500

The handle mechanism wears over time. I went on eBay, bought a color matching handle for under $20 and replaced it myself. You have to be careful when removing the plastic panel bezel that surrounds the handle, drill out two rivets and your door will open like new!

I think you need to replace the latch assm. The 2 arms that grab the peg are spring loaded and if those springs break the arms won't grab. First try holding the outside door handle in the 'open' position and with your finger or a screwdriver see if you can release the 2 arms. If you can, but they fall back down, then they don't have any spring tension. With your frozen 'lock', if you mean the door lock cylinder you can try spraying wd-40 into it to lubricate it. Also, if your key is worn that may cause the lock cylinder to bind. Hope this helps.

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then pull back the weather seal and disconnect the rod to the outer handle and then unscrew the handle from the door.
