I am installing a mobile car antenna to the rear window of my vs commodore car and it has on the inside of the window a decal style sunshade across the full length of the top of the window.the decal is black in colour so the problem there is that I can't see through it to line up the outer part of the antenna to the inside part and the decal being made of plastic, is it ok to stick the inside part of the antenna to it and if its ok to do so any suggestion on how to aline the both together?

The question about OK to stick on the "inside"...

You need to identify the composition of the
"DECAL" and the compatibility of the ADHESIVE
because worse than not COMPATIBLE reactions
can RUIN both elements... leaving you with
an ugly mess....

SOME ADHESIVES SIMPLY DO NOT LIKE PLASTIC.

Otherwise if the DECAL is non-metallic you should
be fine... High frequency radio is quite excellent in
direct close quarters (nothing to worry about there)...!!

Use masking tape to attain PERFECT SYMITRY on
the outside... Extend a piece into the clear area and cross
it at a easily accessible spot... OFF-SET Measure it on the
OUTSIDE... and measure it precisely back on the INSIDE.

(Personally... I think that vehicular communications has
been the finest safety advancement since safety restraints
(safety belts & air-bags)).

Happy motoring!!

Holden VF Commodore. Will a VE radiator support panel fit a VF Commodore?

Unlikely

The VF Commodore was built on an altered version of the Holden designed GM Zeta platform, first used in the VE Commodore. The VF was an evolution of the VE, with several visual changes. The VF featured new styling at the front and rear, with a more modern, sculpted appearance replacing the VE's simpler design.

How to install replacement sunroof motor on a 1999 Pontiac grand prix

Important: This sunroof system is timed from the factory in order to allow the actuator to shut off automatically when the sunroof window reaches a certain position. Hi I have poor reception in my car. Not sure exactly where the booster or being a calais where abouts is the second antenna? I heard that they had a built in one in the rear window. Is that true?

They came standard from the factory with an electric ariel, The ariel was located in the LHS Fr quarter panel just in front of the passenger rear vision mirror on the door. not sure if they had the adjustable electric ariel which would have an up and down arrow button just on the deck or under wear the factory head units were installed. The biggest problem for reception is if they are not earthed properly against the car. if the antenna has been replaced theres a good chance someone may have stuffed up the installation. its best to take the front left tyre off and remove the inner wheel guard/surround so you can get to the ariel unit. from there the cable just runs through the firewall panel and behind the dash to the stereo. they are easy to pull through but make sure you know which holes they came through. when pulling new cable you should remove the glove box to. just pull one of the back corners to the center and it will pop out then the rest is easy.
To simplify things you could just install a manual ariel aswell (430) new electric ones may cost around $100 for a aftermarket one.

My antenna broke, i purchased new antenna but when I tried to install new antenna the old antenna fell inside of radiio, I took out all the screws but still cannot get radio apart

On the back panel, there is a black decal located near the center. Warm this decal with a hair dryer (warm it, don't get it hot)Slip a knife blade under the right side and lift it up. Remove the hidden screw under the decal, and the the other five and the back will come off. replace the FM antenna and you are good to go. I had the same problem. mcarmich

I have to replace the power window motor on my BMW x5. I cant get the door panel off becasue of the built in window shades. any help?

Hi Racegas, I am assuming you need to take off one of the rear door panels. The 1/4 glass sunshade needs to be removed to gain access to a hidden screw. If you are looking at the sunshade from inside of the car. Lower the window, and look at the op of the shade assembly on the inside. You will see a square looking hole. Using a small pocket screw driver, or equivalent, insert the screwdriver into the hole and pry upwards. Pull the assembly to you at the same time. The clip that holds the assembly in place is pretty stout. You may want to shine a flashlight inside the hole to get a better idea of how far to pry the retaining clip up. Just in case you need to know, there are 2 screws under the trim strip that is adjacent to the release handle and one toward the bottem of the door near the interior pocket.
