You could try resetting the computer. The car maybe in lockout mode. Try turning your car over….leave the ignition on. Wait exactly 10 min. Then try turning over again….again leave the key on. Wait exactly 10 min and do it a third time….this time the car should start…maybe run a lil rough while it relearns the processes of your vehicle again. It is important to wait the exact 10 min each time. You will probably need a battery charger or a set of jumper cables because if your car goes low during this process it will not work. Good luck and I hope this works.

1997 pontiac sunfire crank no start condition. Have spark, no codes, have injector pulse, good fuel pressure. But it seems that the injectors are not letting fuel into the cylinder.

Did you check the actual voltage reading to fuel injectors? I wondered about a voltage drop? Your fuel pump relay supplies voltage to both fuel pump and fuel injectors.
In the diagram, the gray wire is voltage and the other color is ground controlled by computer. Did you check fuel injectors, individually?I'd want to use a gage and check proper fuel pressure. Fuel--spark--compression--timing. There are other ways to get fuel in the engine besides fuel injectors, Just to see if engine will hit? There are safety issues, safety is your responsibility.

My 1997 Pontiac Sunfire has a gasoline odour through the vents the last few weeks. What could the possible cause(s) be, and what might the repair bill be?

have the fuel system checked for leaks and have the EVAP system checked for proper operation. as far as repair costs depends on what is causing your problem.

Have you changed the spark plug wires? This is the most common cause of a misfire. After changing the wires, I would then have the Timing checked and a new timing belt installed. If this doesn't fix the problem, you may have a Crankshaft Position Sensor or Camshaft Position Sensor failing. If this doesn't fix the problem, have your fuel pressure tested.

TRY CLEANING the post on your distributor (inside and out), and try replacing the plug wire. Sounds like your just not getting juice to that spark plug. Worst case, new distributor cap.
