After a hard reboot, my HTC G1 works fine, then locks up about 5 minutes later. I've tried both soft and hard rebooting. What's the next step?

Factory restoring is the next step. To do this, when booting the phone, you will need to hold the home button and power button as the phone is booting. Keep holding these even while the G1 screen is displayed. After about 30 seconds, the screen will change to a triangle. On the triangle screen, you will then wait approx. 5-10 seconds and then press the home and power buttons one more time. This will bring up an options menu that will let you wipe and restore your phone settings. As long as you have your gmail information in the phone, you will not lose your contacts.

hi viviana escobar you can take the battery out of the phone next take the sim card out. Now put the sim card back into the phone and then the battery this should reboot your network as well as the phone. Now if after this your phone still doesn't turn on you need to a hard reset. this will wipe out all the data on your phone. To do a hard reset on your phone hold the power button and volume up and down at the same time. Next you should see a screen that should shows fast reboot erase user data. This is should help.

My g1 tmobile phone keeps turning off on me? what can i do

If it keeps rebooting itself at the G1 and Android screen, you might want to factory reset the phone and clear all the data as there may be a virus. To do this, when turning on the phone, hold the home button and the power button even while the G1 screen comes up. Keep holding these until an image with a triangle comes up. You will then wait 5-10 seconds, and press the home and power button again together. This will bring up the OS screen, and provide you 4 options. One of these options is to wipe and restore to factory. Do this and your phone should work fine after you reboot again.

My g1 phone has locked and wont accept my username and password. I have changed the password on line and checked it works but cannot get my phone to unlock

Okay the thing here is you need to master reset it.
Here's how it works:
  1. Power off the G1
  2. Hold Home Key + End key for 20 seconds or until you see a "triangle with an exclamation point and a picture of the G1"
  3. Open the QWERTY keyboard and hit Alt+W
  4. Restored!
To do a soft reboot, simply hit the Home+Back buttons when you reach the "triangle with an exclamation point and a picture of the G1" screen.

This will reset your phone as if it were brand new and your correct user name and password combination will work.

G1 isnt deleting text messages

This problem had been bugging me for over a month now so I decided to just try and wait it out. First I deleted all the threads individually that the phone would allow me to so that just left me with 3 big threads, one that had 1300 messages and 2 that had about 650 each. I went into each thread and hit delete and when the "force close or wait" message popped up I hit "wait". Then it came up again about 5 minutes later so I hit "wait" again. I kept hitting "wait" each time and the thread eventually deleted. The ones with 650 took about 10 minutes of waiting to finally get deleted, the one with 1300 took about 20 mins but eventually they were all gone and now my phone is running much more smoothly. So just wait it out. Its annoying but worth it in the end.
