When i turn my scooter on the ready to use indicator light just flashes. i have checked all of the electrical connections and the fuses but they're all fine. what am i overlooking?

hi Shane, i recommend you check the fuses on the tiller ..

if all okay check the fuses located on the battery leads , if fitted and check the connections to the controller which is located under the foot panel..

On the rascal, if your driving along and it suddenly stops, the throttle lever could be bad or the speed control could be bad or both. A battery lead maybe loose. The tiller cable may have slid back causing line interruption.
The flashing 4 indicates current timeout, the scooter may have been going up a steep hill, over heating the motor, turn off and allow motor to cool. then try again. if this happens on flat ground then check the parking brake, it maybe hanging up causing the motor to over work. The driving of the wheelchair is too slow or insufficient, the status
indicator lamp flashes slowly Batteries are exhausted and need to be recharged
1 flash The battery needs charging or there is a bad connection to the battery. Check the connections to the battery or charge batteries.
2 flashes There is a bad connection to the motor.
Check all connections between the motor and the controller.
3 flashes The motor has a short circuit to a battery connection.
4 flashes Freewheel is engaged.
5 flashes Not used.
6 flashes The controller is being inhibited from driving; this may be because the battery charger is connected.
7 flashes A throttle fault is indicated. Make sure that the throttle is in the rest position before switching on the scooter

hi, the error is covers a number of issues however the brake is one of them.


Now check the wiring of the brake from the controller, if you have a electrical meter disconnect the brake and take a reading, it should read about 35 to 50 ohms on your meter set on lowest resistance reading.


Now if the reading is out this range , this could well be the problem,


If it's not check the connection to the controller.If there is a microswitch fitted check that making a connection.

Hi remove key put freewheel lever into drive & replace key .turn on...,... good luck.,

The wrench light indicates a problem count the number of flashes ie 4 flashes pause 4 flashes indicate a motor problem See my tips on flash codes. Once you get the flash code then you will have to get the chair repaired because there is no self fix for those errors Hope this helps

Did you replace both batteries at the same time? has the scooter been sitting idle for a while? Are the lights on the controller flashing or steady? If no lights come on at all, you may have blown a fuse.
