When ever I try to download Microsoft points on my xbox 360 it gives me an error report: 80169e16

you need to contact xbox customer supprot and report the issue and give them the error codes so that they can possibly get your system remotely. go to xbox.com and follow the link for support, then scroll down to the bottom and click the contact us link... there you will find the option for email, or call us then you just need to click and follow the prompts...

Three red lights error occurs when there is a general hardware failure with the Xbox 360. When this error occurs the systems signals it by showing 3 flashing red lights around the power button. There are a variety of reasons speculated why this error occurs.

try to go to the xbox website and download them just sign in with your xboxlive email and password then you should be all fixed up

Many people have reported this problem when they are accessing downloadable content through a router. Try connecting your xbox directly to the modem supplied by your ISP to download the maps. Connect the Xbox directly, delete the previous download, and download it again.

If that doesn't work, you might need to contact Xbox technical support with more details, such as what exactly you were downloading. Several items can only be downloaded in certain countries or have other restrictions in place, and they will often give this error.

there's a possible hard drive issue on this.
try the ff:
-turn off your xbox
-remove your hdd from the xbox
-turn on the xbox while the hdd is removed
-if you're still getting the sme error code, your xbox needs to be repaired/replaced
