The foot pedal is faulty, the electronic voltage control is not working and only when the contacts are connected physically does the machine receive any power (maximum) It depends on your type of foot pedal whether or not it is repairable
check the plug in to the outlet first then check the power cord connection to the sewing machine could be something wrong with the power cord could also be something wrong with the motor also could be a wiring problem
make sure the power cord is plugged in correctly and also the foot pedal if they are plugged in correctly then it's possible that the motor could be going out or have some kind of a short in it the machine would have to be checked at a sewing machine shop
it could be the motor or the power cord or the foot pedal, check to make sure the power cord and the foot pedal are connected correctly to the machine.if they are then the machine and power cord and foot pedal need to be checked
I suggest having the machine checked at a sewing machine shop to see if there is something wrong with the motor, or the foot pedal but first check to make sure the power cord & foot pedal are connected correctly
there are other things that can cause the machine to slow down like the motor, foot pedal, have you checked these things first 1. is the power cord plugged into the outlet securely 2. is the power cord plugged into the machine correctly 3. is the foot pedal plugged into the machine correctly 4. is the cord to the foot pedal caught in the foot pedal if none of these are the problem, then the machine needs to be serviced to see why it's running slow
Machine is slowing down if it has to change the speed. So if design contains a lot of long stitches or not optimized it will be sewn slow. If your software is surely updated to the latest version and still machine is sewing slow then probably you need to optimize your design.
P.S. Software Live Update you can find under "Help" submenu.
Put the pedal backwards so you are pressing on the big open end of the pedal. It gives you greater control. Practice a couple of times first because it feels awkward,
