I have an LG flatron TV and Pioneer DVD player. Got a picture but can't get sound from DVD player via component input, but Nintendo Wii via AV input works fine. Have tried swapping them around to no effect.
Connect audio output (RCA Jack white n red color) from the video, to the audio input of your TV. Make sure you use same AV channel for the video and audio.
i.e AV1 or AV2 or AV3

I had connected the audio from dvd to TV, but perversely disconecting it might have solved the problem by leading the audio straight out of the DVD into the surround sound, not via the TV. Shame because it means there's no surround sound on the TV but it works! Now I just need to get rid of the awful buzzing noise from the DVD, that might be another thread? :-)

Have you connected audio cables between the DVD player and TV, as well as the component inputs? Component input is only the video section, audio is separate.
