Power failure for BOSCH PSR 1440 Drill

Over a period of time my BOSCH drill needed recharges more and more frequently. It eventually reached a stage where there was very little power even after a full recharge. It has now reached a point where there is no power at all after a full recharge,

The drill is only 3+ years old and I have not used it a great deal.

Thank you for your help.

Usually the problem is in your battery, they develop a memory, they will only charge to a certain point. This can happen when the battery is recharged when it is not completely dead.
The key is to let the battery go completely dead, before recharging. I will wait till the battery is dead, then tape the trigger down and let the drill run till it won't move any more.
Sometimes you can reverse the battery memory, by doing the above, but when the battery is that bad, you might need to start with a new battery, and make sure it is completely drained, before charging it.
Wish you the best of luck.
Sincerely,
Paul Gibson

Tracey,
There should be a legend on the top of front of your charger that should explain the light sequence for the charging process.

How do i change the chuck of a bosch psr 10,2 li cordless drill

Hi. When the 3 pins are opened all the way there is a phoenix type screw in the centre of the chick.(inside where the drillbit comes) There you can hold the chuck with hand or bench vise and unscrew the bolt holding it secure. spray some wd 40 on the base and gently wiggle it out.

How to remove necessary parts from Bosch PSR 12 cordless drill to recharge the battery?

You shouldn't have to remove any parts, except the battery itself, to charge the PSR12. I did find a breakdown of your drill that shows a 'Battery Retaining Clip' that is a heavy, u-shaped wire that goes into the front of the housing section just above the battery. It may have to be removed to get the battery out.

How do I remove chuck from bosch psr 1440 drill

Hi Tracy,

From the parts diagram that I looked at, it looks like you can open the chuck completely and remove it with a screwdriver. There is a screw in the bottom of the chuck. However, if your drill doesn't have a spindle lock, I'm not sure it can be done, except by a repair shop.

Hope this helps. If it does, I'd appreciate your vote. Thanks,

Handie Andie

How long do I charge my 18 v PSR bosch cordless drill for as it only has a green light on it and it stays on when I put the drill onto the charger

about 180 mins or an hour and a half. if the light does not change, just make sure you put it properly on the charger base and time it for charging. Disconnect it after you are done. Usually, the light on the charger is just an indication that it is powered on.
