my casio sl - 1100tv 's % button is disfunctional i think? when i type 10+50% it gives me the total of 20? it should be 15! same goes for the rest 144+60% it gives me 360? please help me
It uses an odd notation. For 10 + 50% you need to press 10 [x] 50 [%][+] and it will display 15. For 144 + 60%, you need to press 144 [x] 60 [%] [+] and it will display 230.4 which is the correct answer. Now tell me what the ? key is for because I haven't figured that one out yet,

FINALLY figured out how to change the tax rate! Press AC. Press and hold the Rate Set (%) button UNTIL THE CURRENT TAX RATE IS DISPLAYED. Enter the new rate you want (such as 7.5). Press the Rate Set (%) button again.
Big calculators work a little different than handheld calculators. Like the above commentor explained, if you have a basic "whats 100 minus 20?" You have to entered as 100 + 20 -- And when you hit the minus button at the end, it will give you the total. 100 is the positive number, and the 20 is the negative number that your subtracting. Also you can hit 20 -- 100 + and get the same total because you entering 20 as the negative and 100 as the positive, just in reverse.
Press the [ac] button, then press and hold the [tax+] button for a second or two. Then enter the tax rate you want as a percentage. You would enter 8.25% sales tax as 8.25 for instance. Then press the [%] key to set the rate. Notice that printed above the [tax+] button is "tax rate" and above the [%] key is "rate set" as a reminder of which key to press.
Hi. Sorry, I've been busy. Just got back to your message. If you want to reset all of the PLUs (quantity and amount) in the usual way, then you turn to Z mode, then type the PLU reset number. I can't remember which code it is. Try typing 12 then press CASH. If you get the wrong report, then type 13 then CASH and so on. I think it might be 15 CASH but it's been a while since I did them. When you see 'PLU' at the top of the report then you have the right one. This won't affect your programming. It will just reset the sales totals for each PLU.
