Inbound call on avaya - phone on mute and you hit the headset button by mistake = will it record that you disconnected the customer? I got fired for hanging up on customers with the Avaya hard phone and Genesys software. We also have the NICE recording system that apparently shows that I hung up on customers. I always kept my phone on mute and was busy doing other things. I sometimes hit the headset button and disconnected a call. Also if you are dialing out on the hard phone when a call is coming in, will that automatically disconnect the inbound call?

No, that will not disconnect the caller. BUT, if you hit the headset button again, it will. If you hit the headset button, you need to hit the switch hook to regain the call....

First make sure headset/handset adaptors are not plugged into the phone

Press * to change the setting
When the setting is at what you want press # this will save tyhe setting and exit programming mode
Be sure the headset you have is compatible with the Merlin Magix and a 4424 L4D+ phone. You will need to program both the headset status and headset hangup buttons. Headset status will negate the need for lifting the handset. and the hangup button is used to disconnect the call.
