My DISH Network dual dvr that I had a year started shutting down on its own. The lights would go off but the fan would still run on high. It would do this 15-20 times a day. Got a brand new dvr last week. It worked a week and now it''s doing the exact same thing. It stays on 'no signal' and flashes big white rectangles on and off and the one light on the front keeps bliinking. I can't make it shut off without unplugging it. the remote won't do anything when this happens.

Sudel9302,

That replacement receiver may be experiencing technical problems. I apologize for the inconvenience of having the 2nd receiver shutting on/off. If unplugging and plugging the receiver back into the electrical outlet hasn't resolved the issue, please call 1-800-333-3474 so we can either send a replacement or have a tech come out to your home. I hope this helps.

Why does my Dish Network DVR-625 DTV receiver sound like it is running all the time

The Dish 625 as with the other Dish DVR systems has a fan built into the back of the unit. The fan runs nearly all the time to keep the internal drive cool. Sometimes the fan sounds louder that normal. what I do from time to time is take my shop vac and or the small vac u you use to clean your computer. and clean the vents around the fan. I do this on my desk top computer also.. Hope this helps.

ViP 612 DVR hard drive is always running. I don't beleive it did this when it was new. At least I never heard it. It's about 2 years old. It is not the fan. The unit vents are clear. Tried reboot. No...

The function is always in use because of the ability to pause live tv and rewind. So its very common for the hard drive and fan to run often on DVR receivers. Does it still allow you to record programs? The best option would be to unplug it for 10-15 seconds which sounds like you have done. If the sound is becoming overbearing we can send a replacement receiver.

Today I get home and my dish dvr has a loud fan sound like a computer fan that wont stop running it doesnt matter if the dvr is on or off

Hello this is Nick Franta with DISH Network.

The DVR fan does typically runs most of the time the receiver is on (or recently turned off). Since the DVR controls the option of stopping live programming and skipping back it is always in use so the fan will continually run. If the sound continues non-stop for the next 48-72 hours we may want to send a replacement receiver for you. You can contact me at [email protected] if it does continue to be troublesome.

Fan on Dish Network's VIP722k DVR is continually running.

Hello, this is Nick Franta with DISH Network Customer Support.

It is normal for the fan on the 722k receiver to run often to cool down the system. If the receiver is in an enclosed space that could cause the receiver to overheat which would make the fan run continuously.

If you have any further questions let us know.

My 622 DVR dual (DISH ) receiver has lost 3 local channels in a row ( SAT 61.5) . Connecticut 7385,7386,7387 - (ch 20,24,26.) Other tv's/ HD box and old 310 box converters work fine. I have unplugged,...

Hello, my name is Daniel Busa with Dish Network customer service. Whats probably causing the issue would be that either you're not getting high enough signal strength on the 61.5 satellite. Otherwise there could be an issue with the box if you swap it with another reciever in the home, and the issue follws it you'll need a new box.

Connect a Dish VIP622 to a DVD/VCR

Hi piautewith the VIP622 receiver connecting to your DVD/VCR player you will need theinput/output jacks. To setup recordings to your VCR/DVD player, you will want torun from receiver output to VCR/DVD input and from VCR/DVD output to TV input. Thefan on the VIP622 receiver is just like the fan in a computer tower. Even ifthe receiver is off the fan will still run to keep unit the right temperature foryour DVR receiver. Dish 625 shuts off without warning and fan runs high

Unfotunately this is an event known as power cycling and the only resolution is another receiver. This issue is due to faulty internal components and has nothing to do with anything other than that fact. If you have further questions feel free to contact me. Thanks for using Fix Ya.
