It does not have a restore partition. You will have to get an operating system installation disc to re-install Windows XP. If you do go that route here is a link to the page that contains all the drivers for your laptop. CLICK HERE to go to page.
And you'll also need to install the Microsoft UAA Bus driver so that the modem and sound card can be detected and installed properly. You need to download all the drivers from the Compaq/HP WEB support/download page. Make sure you select your model laptop and the XP Windows version of the drivers you require.
1.observe the laptop for any RJ11 socket (where you can connect your telephone cable).Most of the laptops are equiped with inbuilt modem.
2.go to specifications sheet of your model on www.hp.com
3.checkup the website for modem drivers for that model or you can find it at www.drivrers.com
4.basing on your operating system, download the drivers from above said sites and install them.
