When I try and import any patches from the PATCHES folder it says "File not recognised" or "unsupported file" even though they are .MVO files. Why is this?

SOURCE: file import

Try IMPORT instead of just trying to load them on your SPD-S.
The SPD-S uses some kind of its own file-format.

SOURCE: removing files

Hold down the "Wave" and "Setup" buttons at the same time while powering on the SPD-S. This will turn off the protection; you should now be able to remove the file.

To turn the protection back on, perform the same procedure again.

Quicken will not print more than seven checks.

You may run into this problem if you use the 2005 or 2006 version of Quicken’s personal finance software (such as Quicken Basic, Deluxe, Premier, Premier Home & Business). If you try to print eight or more checks at once, they won’t print.

According to Quicken Help & Support, Intuit fixed this problem for both the 2005 and 2006 versions of Quicken. You’ll need to download and install the latest patch, which includes the fix for this problem. Quicken offers manual and One Step Update methods to update your version of Quicken with the latest patch. You’ll need an Internet connection to download the patch. If you have a dialup connection, connect to the Internet before you start any of the update methods below. Once you complete the patch installation, Quicken will be able to print eight or more checks.

To read Quicken’s solution for this problem, visit www.quicken.com, click Help & Support, and then select 2006 For Windows (make sure Quicken For Windows and Quicken 2006 appear in the Product fields). Next, type 2997 into the Search field and click Search.

Update Quicken 2005 manually
Visit Quicken Help & Support, select 2005 for Windows, and enter 3810 in the search field. Open the How Do I Manually Update Quicken 2005 For Windows To The Latest Release? link. This page has all of the patches for Quicken 2005. However, you only need to download the patch that has the highest R number. The latest patch carries all of the data from the earlier patches. In this case, you will want to download patch QW05R5PATCH.exe.

Click the file’s link. If you have Windows XP, a File Download – Security Warning may appear. Click the Save button. In the Save As window, choose a location to which you’d like to save the file and then click Save. When the download completes, simply double-click the file to start the patch installation.

(NOTE: This method involves downloading and installing a single patch file. If you don’t have an Internet connection but have a friend who does, you can download the file to his PC and then burn it to a CD [assuming your friend’s PC has a CD-RW]. Use the CD to transfer the file to your computer.)

Update Quicken 2006 manually
Visit Quicken Help & Support, select 2006 for Windows, and then enter 3796 in the search field. Open the How Do I Manually Update Quicken 2006 For Windows To The Latest Release? This page has all of the patches for Quicken 2006. However, you only need to download the patch that has the highest R number. The latest patch is QW06R3PATCH.exe and carries all of the data from the earlier patches.

Click the file’s link. If you have Windows XP, a File Download – Security Warning may appear. Click the Save button. In the Save As window, choose a location to which you’d like to save the file and then click Save. When the download completes, simply double-click the file to start the patch installation.

Update Quicken 2005 Or 2006 With One Step Update
You can also update your version of Quicken using One Step Update. You can start the update by clicking Online Menu and then selecting One Step Update. Next, uncheck any checkboxes that appear and then click Update Now. The tool will download and install the latest update for you.

Upgrade for settlers downloads but won't run

I had this issue as well. Download the patch directly from the website, and run it locally. Afterwards the updater won't find a newer patch, and goes directly to the game. I don't know whether this will break again once a new patch is released, but you should be able to manually install it again at that time. Patches can be found at http://www.ubi.com/US/default.aspx under support --> patches.

This link may take you directly to the right place.

RC-50: Importing wav. files from computer to loop station.

Hi I just got a RC 50 and I face the same problem but looking the content of the data in the Roland folder (after you connect the USB) , I notice the format of the label of each sound's and I understood the problem. So , here it is . Before you connect to USB , you have to choose a patch , let say n.16 OK, now the audio file that you want to import into the data folder must be named in this way "016_1.WAV" ,the 16 refer to the patch number and 1 is the phrase number (if you want to put the audio file into the phrase 1 ,or 2 if 2 ecc.) now disconnect the USB .At this point you just have to increase or decrease the patch number just one time and go back to 16 (it has to refresh the patch info) and you'll find your audio file ready to use in whatever phrase you put it.
have fun

Moved my numbers over to my new nokia 6500s. However when people ring me the phone doesn't recognise the name and just shows the number. Also, when looking to create a message I cant find all my contacts...

After you import the names and numbers you will need to add the contacts to the contacts folder they are in a folder that was imported awith the same name look under at the contacts folder and you will find a sub folder called contacts also the phone will see it a an imported folder with an extension that refers to a database file called contacts.

Printing problems

Had a similar problem with printing from a file saved on a network drive. Apparently the file name was too long. Moving a copy of the file to the local drive (such as a folder on the desktop) allowed printing. I believe I am also functioning without the Suretrak 3.0a or 3.0b software patches which may correct the problem (see Primavera's website for patch b). Since it is only on certain files, I would think it is due to too long of a path to the filename.
