How do I recalibrate the touch screen. When I press the screen, it registers the touch below where I am actually pressing. This makes the top screen options unavailable. How do I recalibrate?

Nuvi 2xx/2xxW Series: Turn the Nuvi off. Place your finger on the upper left-hand corner of the screen and then slide the on/off power switch to the left and hold until you see the calibration screen. Note: Some 2xxW models require the procedure below for the 7xx.
Nuvi 7xx Series: Turn the Nuvi off. Touch the screen anywhere and keep your finger there while moving the on/off switch to left (don't wait for Garmin logo to come up) and then quickly moving the switch the right (lock position). After a short while, you will reach the calibration screen. Go through the entire procedure of pressing each dot as it appears on the screen until it says "Done".
You can try to adjust the touch screen > press the yellow clear button then 1993 & press the stop button three times & follow the display screen. Odds are you are going to have to replace the touch screen, the adjustment will not last long....Good Luck
the screen needs calibration. below are the instruction on how to calibrate the screen.
The Digitizer Preferences screen opens the digitizer calibration screen. This is the same screen that appears when you start your handheld for the first time.
You can recalibrate your screen after a hard reset or if your digitizer drifts. You may need to repeat this process a few times until the calibration registers.
To calibrate your handheld screen:
1. From the General Preferences list, select Digitizer.
2. Tap the targets as indicated on the screen as precisely as possible.
TIP
You can also press Left, Right, Up, and Down on the navigator to highlight a Preferences screen name and then press Select on the navigator to open that Preferences screen.
enter the [user tools/counter] then before you press [system settings] hold it down pressed the [#] key and while the [#] key is pressed press the [system settings] key (on the touch screen or if dose not have touch screen than press ok) and the copier will return the settings to default. You can repeat the procedure for all settings.
I tried everything, even heating my Palm as described here.
The only thing that really worked for me was pressing the "up" button while pressing the "Reset" button (hard reset). Luckily, I had all of my files backed up. The hard reset truly worked. Good luck to all!
