How to clean air filter in HITACHI CP-X385

Where is the air filter in HITACHI CP-X385... I dont find it in

Hi there

Look at the bottom of the Projector , you'll see a thin grey line with two edges on it. That is the filter. Grip on the sides and gently pull it out.

Sorry my mistake.

This Projector is also known as 3M MP8749 - only the branding differs.

If look at the Projctor from the top with the lens facing forward - the filter sits on the left side of the lens. So in other words on the side.

Do make sure that you reset the filter timer as well after cleaning the filter.

This can be done by going into the Menu Options and then selecting Filter Time.

As for cleaning the filter you can either vacuum or blow it out with a small compressor.

After turning on the projector, I get a message that says clean the filter and reset the timer. How do I do that? I have cleaned the filter.

Procedure for resetting filter time.
Pressing the RESET button for about 3 seconds displays the FILTER TIME menu. Select the RESET using button to reset the timer. : RESET <- CANCEL Selecting the RESET resets the count of the lamp timer to 0. memo Perform this function only when you have cleaned or replaced the air filter. The filter timer counts the used time of the air filter after cleaning or replacement, to display the messages about the air filter. Incorrect performing causes incorrect operation of the messages. memo About caring for the air filter, please refer to the section "Air Filter".

Resetting the air filter timer

If you do not have a remote here is how to reset the filter time. Use the "Menu" bottun to get the "easy menu" to display. Push the down arrow until you get to "Filter Time," then push and hold the RIGHT arrow to reset the filter time. DO NOT try to reset using the "Reset" option on the easy menu, it will not work.

What you want to do is go to the advanced menu, find the filter time and using the remote hold down reset button for 3 seconds or so while the filter time is selected. This will bring up a reset menu and reset the timer.
