Depends where the break is in the cable, if middle to near the plug, you can cutt the cable and put a new plug on. But the closer you get to the headphones you will need a new cable and it will have to be fitted inside the shell.
If in the middle you can extend with an extension cable, after fitting a new plug. If you have to fit a whole new cable, to gain access take off the Ear Pad(s) and remove any foam, you should then see access screws.
If you don't know how to fit a new plug, let me know and I will explain.

It does sound as if the wire has been broken. I would suggest contacting the manufacturer to see if your product's damaged jack is covered under their warranty. They do have a limited warranty that covers defects in manufacturing and if this damage is something that just happened out of the blue and not from any other sort of activity that may have caused the issue, then you should be covered.

I have a pair of skullcandy ind'd headphones and

Hello,
don't feel alone this happens on lots of head phone set up. What happens sense the wire run through the top over to the other side and head phone are constantly put on , twisted, adjusted and so forth, the small little wires that are normally soldered to the two wires to each side get loose. Only thing you can do to attempt to fix it yourself, is to take off carefully the right side ear piece, and get to the exposed wires, you will then notice most likely it will be smashed or loose. If you or if you have a friend that knows how to solder, than, you would make sure wire is cleaned, stripped and re- solder it. Than problem will work. I am sure that is the problem, nothing else it could be. Thanks Mike ( premium expert from fixya)

No sound in right headphone, however if i hold down the wire in a certain position sound is restored. is this fixable?

Sounds like u have a bad wire, Its fixable depending on where the break is. If its near the plug end, u can head to ur nearest radio shack and get a replacement, however, if the break is in the leading headphone, though still fixable but requires a bit more tech savy. As long as u can operate a pair of wire cutters and a soldering iron, youll be good to go

There's a metal rattling in my right ear cup (like something is loose inside), is this fixable?

You could take the headphone apart to see if something is touching the speaker - a small hair, for example, could've gotten past the protective grille and is causing strange noises each time the driver vibrates.
Hope that helps. Good luck! :)

Loose Wire, please help

You will have to buy a replace ment jack and solder the connections. These cords seem to have different colors between manufacturers but start by soldering the green or blue (left) to the tip of the plug, the next ring to the red(right) wire and the base to the copper(ground) wire. Try to get a plug with a metal shield that unscrews and make sure you thread the cable through the shield right way around( threads towards plug before you solder.

No sound in right ear

Check for a loose connection in the wire. Wiggle (carefully) the wire around both the headset where it sits on your heat. Also, check the other end (plug) to see if there are any shorts. If this simple "wiggle" test shows nothing, there may be a problem with the driver (speaker) in the right channel in your headphone.

Another thing to check and this should be obvious: make sure your balance on your stereo/receiver is set to be in the middle and not to the left.
