Our Sony Trinitron just went off and the STAND BY/TIMER red light is blinking. When we try to turn the TV back on, all it does is TICK and then turn off by itself.
The standby light should be blinking in a repeated pattern. Count the blinks and report that number here. This will indicate the circuit that is defective and will allow us to provide a repair suggestion.

Sony FD Trinition Wega KV-32HS510 Try to turn tv on -it starts then shuts off -stand by lights keeps flashing. Memory stick light flashes then goes off.
Please post the blink count. The standby light should be blinking a repeated count. That will indicate the circuit where the problem resides.
