HP 2610 has no power

This printer is just over a year old and it has no power. I've tested the power adapter and it is good. I would like to get instructions on how to take it apart so I can try replacing the power supply. Any ideals would be helpful. I hate to just throw the printer away. I've never even had to replace the ink cartridges.

Hi,

try this...

> connect the power chord directly to the wall socket.
> try with different wall socket.
> u said that there is no problem with the adapter, that means the light is lit on the adapter. so there should not be any problem from the wall socket till the adapter.
> check the connection from the adapter to the printer
> make sure that it is securely plugged in to the printer as well as to the adapter.

if nothing happens you can try changing the adapter. because the problem may be on the part which lies from the adapter to the printer. if that is also not working, you may have to service the unit.

thanks and regards
agnel

Black ink smears when printing out

I am afraid that Dennis (Writing below) is correct, When you have smearing it is a print head problem and they need to be replaced, If you have had this printer for many years (HP GOOOD Printer) you should check prices on a new machine, the reason for that is that HP has discontinued support on many machines as of 1 Jan 2013, If you can find a print head for your system it may be half the price of a new machine, Also; if one print head is going it may not be long before you see the same problem on the one or more color print head. It is probably not what you were hoping to hear but right now HP has several really good systems on sale,

My printer is a HP- 6210, Message: "remove and

Hello Cliff, welcome to FixYa.

Hard Reset the printer by doing the following:
  • Remove all the ink cartridges.
  • While the printer in ON, unplugged the power cable from the power source.
  • Disconnect the USB cable at the back of the printer (if your printer is connected through a USB cable)
  • Restart your computer.
  • Connect back the USB cable.
  • Plug the power cable to its power source.
  • Turn ON the printer if it does not turn ON automatically.
  • Install the ink cartridges.
  • If the printer prompts for an print head alignment, please do so.

If the problem persists, replace the ink cartridge. The cartridge might be defective since you already have tried to clean the contacts.

Keep me posted.

HP Photosmart 2610 all-in-one printer. I've replaced my color and black carts. with refilled ones. My color ink drained all over the bottom of the inside of the printer. I am no longer going to be...

You can use a degreasing spray or methyl alcohol to clean up the residual ink. Use a brush to clean and wipe and BLOW using a hair dryer to fully dry up the residue.
Make sure that there is no dirt at the terminals, clean and set with original cartridges from HP.
Now if there is errors then you must disconnect printer, uninstall then install the driver, connect printer when prompted and print a test page.

HP 2610 won't turn on. Power cord problem?

If there is no power at all test a different power cord. If there is a power adapter in the middle you can test DC voltage on power adapter.

Sometimes the power socket on the printer is bad, in that case you need repair service.

Test also the printer on a different socket.

Electricity in house cut off. Now, printer does

Make sure power adapter is plugged into a power outlet that you know works. Then try and power drain the printer by unplugging the power cable and letting it sit for a bit and pressing the power button a few times. Then plug the power back in and see if it power up. If not, then the power adapter itself or the internet power on the printer might be faulty.

2610 won't print

By self-test, I assume you are doing that manually on the printer. drivers downloaded/installed? right click on my computer, left click on properties, click on hardware, and then click on device manager. is there a yellow question mark by print drivers? If so, then need to load them from the internet or from your installation disk.
