How do I replace lid switch in a Sears Kenmore 80 series, model 1

We have ordered new wheels but the price for plastic wheels seemed a little high ....Hose came loose, water pours out and into my basement, pump slips out of slot ..... I will NOT be buying another Kenmore dishwasher when I do replace it.

You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations of your specific model. Not all models are available

Sounds like the lid switch.

This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:

Enter your model number (###.######) and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

See the section on the console and cabinet and you'll see where the switch is located.

The parts should be available from Sears Parts Direct. The top of the washer can be popped off and the switch should be on the right hand side as you face the washer. Un-plug the washer first.

However, if you are not familiar with this type of work, you should call a competent repair service.

Manually move the timer to the SPIN mode and turn it on.
If nothing happens, replace the lid switch.
With a model number I could be more specific.
