Maytag Dishwasher flashing lights

My model MDB7100AWW had a door switch problem (palmetto bug got inside). I removed the bug and got it working for two weeks. It died again, so I figured the switch was misaligned fom my previous work. Got it to turn on, but now I'm getting two flashing lights: Heavy Wash, and Clean. Removed power for a few hours, but it didn't help.

Same DW...closed the door this morning and all the lights started flashing...note that we had the DW serviced under recall about 6 months ago for problem related to rinse agents corroding wires...

    Anyone have a solution?

I had the same problem with the lights flashing on the control panel. It has been occurring periodically over the past year. I would press the Delay/Resume button until it stopped. Now the '3 second' button has lit up by itself locking the panel. I can turn it off by flipping the breaker but after a couple of minutes, it comes back on by itself. We had the recall repair done on this machine about a year ago. Not sure if any of this is related but DW still not working.

Closed the door this morning and 3 lights were flashing. Tried pushing some buttons but that didn't work. Turned breaker power off and on but lights continued flashing. I pushed Delay/Resume and lights went out and motor ran for 5 seconds and lights started flashing again. Pushed Drain/Off and lights went out. Pushed Normal wash and it started worked.

Crossing my fingers, legs and eyes it keeps working.

Flashing Lights on Dishwasher and dishwasher won't run.

Thank you Jadey1. Pressing the delay/resume button one time then pressing the drain/off button twice cleared the flashing lights on the dishwasher and it is running again.

I have the same problem with the lights flashing on the control panel. It pops up every 4 or 5 months. The only solution I have found is to press the delay/resume button one time then press the drain/off button twice. You may have to hold the keys down for a couple of seconds. This seems to reset something in the panel. Make sure you haven't pressed the 3 second lock button or it won't work.

Model MDB7100AWW. Machine washes okay but does not dry dishes. Element tested as okay. No drainage problem. Is there a thermostat that should be replaced?

You have to verify that element is actually receiving voltage at start of dry cycle. Cause will be timer or relay. Be sure to check hi-limit switch and door seal.

Dishwasher won't run. Normal light and cancel light flashing cont

Hi,

The door latch pulls the door tightly closed to prevent water leakage around the door. It is also designed to prevent operation while the door is open. The door latch works in concert with the door switch to ensure that the door is tightly closed and latched. The door switch is a separate part from the door latch and is found inside the cabinet. The switch is off when the door is open. Depressing the switch closes the circuit and enables dishwasher operation. Closing the door does not depress the switch all the way. Only when the door is closed and latched, does the door fully depress the switch.

If the door latch is not properly aligned it may not pull the door tightly closed and the door switch will not be fully depressed. Unless the switch is fully depressed the dishwasher will not operate. It is a simple matter to determine whether the door latch is the problem. Simply open the door, close the latch and select a cycle and depress the switch. Note that if the test is successful, with the door open, the dishwasher will operate and water may spray out. Make sure to first remove all tools from inside the dishwasher. Do not reach inside the dishwasher during the test. Now, inspect the cabinet where the door makes contact with it and locate the door switch. It may have a protruding button or spike or more likely it is a hole with a piece of metal or plastic inside it. You must fully depress that switch. If the switch is recessed, then use a non-conductive object, such as a wooden pencil, to depress the switch.

Thank you !!

We got our maytag 300 quiet series about 3 years ago from home depot. about a year ago the option buttons/lights on the right side went dead. It was out of warranty and still worked so i ignored it. Now...

Our Maytag dishwasher (an earlier model) quit too. Found that the door latch operates two micro-switches which supply power to the machine and one of the switches no longer made contact when operated. The switch pair and the plastic latch parts are sold as a package for about $15 on the internet. A number of lights in the door are held in place by a small colored lens for each light and the lenses have disintegrated leaving the lights to hang by the wires inside the door cavity. Plan to use contact cement to glue the lights in place. I don't know if this will help you, but it doesn't take long to open the door cavity. Make sure to remove power to the machine before opening it up.

Maytag MDB7100AWW Dishwasher how many minimum amps is needed

to find out the amps needed you need to take the wattage that is listed on the information tag on the door of the dishwasher. Take the wattage number and multiply that number by 1000. Take the figure and divide it by the a/c current used to run the dishwasher this total is the minimum amps need for the proper operation of the dishwasher.

Example 35 watts X 1000 = 35000 divided by power supplied say 120 volts 29.1 amps or 30 amps

Hope this helped

I have a maytag mdb7100Aww. Dishwasher leaks at bottom of door

You definitely have to have a clean......float clean from all debris...it is very typical for the float to cause leaking problems ..as it is an overflow switch....also drying agents...that are used...especially if any is spilled inside will foam up and cause an overflow as well as liquid detergents that are not specified by the maker of your DW....these foam also....(if to much is used)...but the float will not push down on the switch if it is completely free from gunk.
I hope this helps.....good luck...thanks for rating my effort....the Fang.

Greetings

Everything is fixable, you just need to weigh the cost of repair against a new dishwasher. To help solve your problem, I would need the brand and model number of your dishwasher. Plus, you say it's from the electronics panel? Is this a board in the dishwasher itself or did you mean the electrical panel on the wall?
