Insert the sim in another phone and use bluetooth to send them on this phone. Borrow a friend's phone for this purpose.

Hi, also check that you have imported all your contacts onto your sim card. If so... go into the phonebook... press the menu button (button with 4 little squares above it)... go to option saying 'more' and then go to 'import contacts' - gives you the option of either importing from SIM card or MEMORY card! :)) Good luck!!

Can't copy my contact from sim card to my xperia x10..i have 210 contact inside my sim card I tried this 1. opened phonebook 2. tapped the menu button 3.clicked more,...

If you still have the old device, try turning Bluetooth on with both devices and try to send them over via Bluetooth. If that still does not work you might have to take it to your carrier store and they have a device that can do it automatically.

FRecently purchased GS290, put old sim in and have not been able to retrieve memory from sim card. New phone has old number, and is working but cannot access old contacts and messages. I also am not able...

Hi fragglewise ,

what i suggest for you to do is insert the sim card into your old phone and transfer all the contacts into the sim card. after that insert the sim card into your new phone and find the option wher eyou can copy the contacts in the sim into your phone.

if that does not work then that means the sim card cannot store contacts.

another option is to place the sim card in your old mobile and write down all the numbers that you NEED on paper and then later type it all down on the new phone.

i hope this helps, good luck!

I bought a new Xperia X10 and i want to copy contacts from my old phone. I copied all my contacts from old phone to the Sim. My question is how can i copy the contacts from Sim to my new X10?

Yes indeed you can copy your sim contacts to your X10

Just insert the sim into your x10.
Turn on the handset
Open main menu by tapping bottom of screen. Or touch bottom of screen and drag finger upwards.
Find "phonebook" and tap that.
Now your phone book is open Press the Bottom LEFT button on your handset not the screen the actual button.
A menu will pop-up so tap the "More" option
Then tap "Import Contacts" from this menu
Then tap "Sim Card" from the new pop-up.
The rest should work for you.

I hope this helps and I hope you enjoy your new phone. :)

Nokia 6110

ahh the notorious "sim not read" error message
well what you have is a is a faulty contact issue from the phones brass 8 or 10 pin points to the sim card pin contacts inside the phone itself and also too, your service provider has without your knowing it, from time to time have uploaded numerous software data updates to your phone, and often old sim cards, if not replaced occasionally, your sim card has a compatibility issue to the new data being sent to your phone. You basically need a new sim card. Usually and often if the phones has suffered a lot of abuse (from physically dropping to the ground and natural elements like tempertature, rain, exposure to cold and moisture, which is a big culpret) those brass contacts, located inside the phone, that are on the edge of the sim card (when you turn the sim over you see them) get particules in between the contacts causing the notorious "sim not read" or even the notorious " sim not found please insert sim".

Phone says no sim card inserted

Your phone will operate without the sim card. But you won`t be able to make calls etc.
Make sure it`s inserted correctly and use a dry piece of cloth to clean the sim card.

Unlocking my sony ericsson w580i

IF U ARE USING THE SAME CARRIER AS BEFORE (ATT FOR EXAMPLE) IT WONT NEED UNLOCKED. IF U WERE GIVEN A NEW SIM CARD FROM UR CARRIER WHEN THE NEW PHONE WAS BOUGHT, THEN YOU WILL HAVE TO USE THE SIM CARD. THE CARRIER ATTACHES THE SIM CARD NUMBER TO UR ACCOUNT. YOUR OLD ONE CAN BE USED ONLY TO ACCESS YOUR CONTACTS, BUT NOT TO MAKE CALLS.YOU CAN HOWEVER PUT THE OLD SIM CARD IN UR NEW PHONE FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF TRANSFERRING UR CONTACTS, THEN REPLACE YOUR NEW SIM CARD INTO UR NEW PHONE
