Voyetra Turtle Beach Ear Force X3 Wireless Headphones for Xbox 360 Logo
Posted on Apr 06, 2010

My Turtle Beach headset makes a horrible popping static noise and cuts in and out randomly throughout game-play. I have a wireless router (LinkSys) and an LG 32" Flat Screen TV. Is there a way to cancel this interference or figure where it's coming from? Is there an optimal place to put the headset?

Uh, that has nothing to do with the headset--it's due to chat in the Xbox controller. No headset is going to be 100% quiet because they are self-powered.

Your controller cable may be broken. Here's the link to buy a new one:

The batteries are probably low, first the headset will give out one beep per minute, which rises to almost every second. I had a problem with this too.

My turtle beach x41s are making a loud buzzing noise. i tried raplacing batteries and taking the fibre optic cables out at both ends, however nothing seems to work. any ideas? also this is not the noise...

Did you remove the chat cable to make sure it's not the controller? In fact, did you try a completely different controller? (Only use a wireless controller btw).
You might want to just contact TurtleBeach directly since they'd be able to help you better than anyone on some random website.

Clicking/Static Noises

If you unplug the chat-controller cable from your headset and controller, does the click/static noise go away? If yes, then you need a new chat-controller cable. Email [email protected] for that. ------- If the noise remains even after you've disconnected the chat cable, then the problem is likely due to the presence of too many other Radio Frequency wireless devices competing with the X31 transmit/receive, especially if you have an 802.11n ("N") router made before Oct 2009. If that's the case, you should definitely contact Turtle Beach at [email protected] and ask them for help with this.

Turtle Beach Ear Force X1's make a ******* noise when ever my controller vibrates, it sounds like static coming from my mic to other gamers.

If you're also using the Play n Charge Kit, that could happen because of noise through the USB bus power. The solution would be to use the X1 without the Play n Charge Kit, and charge your controller when you're not using the headset.
Also, if you unplug the chat-controller cable, does this problem go away? If so, then it might be that your chat-controller cable is going bad and needs to be replaced.

My turtle beach has static like noies when i plug it in to my controler

THis problem is usually caused by an older controller because the jacks are loose and don't make a good connection with the talkback cable. Try a new controller to see if the problem is fixed. Also, try cleaning the connections on the talkback cable with some alcohol to remove any corrosion on the metal.

Turtle beaches make a crakle sound

If you unplug the chat-controller cable from both the headset and the controller, then play the game soundtrack through the headphones, do you still hear the high pitched noises, or do they go away?
If they go away, then a replacement chat-controller should fix the problem.
If the noises do not go away, then your best bet would be to tell Turtle Beach tech support about this --- [email protected].
