You don't mention the small white plastic piece that goes inside the spring. how does it fit into the spring?

Thanks Mark, and you too Kurt for your question.I missed the little hex screw at first because the stem slipped right off and that's why it wouldn't sit right. I did #1 and #2 correctly. I set the cartridge wrong the first time because the handle turned backward rather than forward so I rotated it. It leaked when reassembled, with and without that extra white piece. It's the hot handle so at which angle do you align?

How do i repair bellera #r560vs kitchen faucet reduced/low cold water flow have installed newfaucet valve

Turn off the hot & cold water supply lines at the shut-off valves.

Yo need to use the correct replacement cartridge for the faucet you are fixing

The cartridge replacement procedure requires using food grade silicone lubricant around the base of the new cartridge and around the threads of the bonnet.

Then you must properly align the 2 bumps on the bottom of the cartridge with the inside body of the faucet.

Insert and tighten down the bonnet that holds the cartridge in place to where it is snug- do not over tighten the bonnet!

Then reinstall the trim piece and lever.

Slowly, fully open the hot and cold water shut-offs and check for leaks at the shut offs, sink handle, and spout.

If you are using the Watts brand floodsafe supply lines, turn the hot and cold water shut-offs, on slowly. Rapid flow and pressure may activate the floodsafe valve within the supply line, causing little to no water flow to the faucet.

My house is only 2 years old and has begun making a "hammering" noise when I turn on the cold water tap in the bathroom only. The water will actually stop flowing in a moment or two.

If the water actually stops running it might be a problem in the internal balancing valves. Some valves will restrict flows of the other water-supply: If there is slow hot water it throttles the cold water, if there is slow cold water it throttles the hot water. It is meant to stop the screaming in the shower if a toilet for example is flushed and the cold water pressure drops. Some but not all valves can be taken apart and cleaned. Turn off both shut off vavles first!

Getting hot water when shower valve is first opened.

If I understand correctly, you have single handled shower faucet.
Normally there is a wait for hot water to arrive at faucet.
But now hot water is already at shower faucet.

Single handled faucets have a mixing area inside valve where hot and cold come together before going into sink.
This mixing valve can have crossover where the hot and cold can pass through to each other even when faucet handle is off. When single handle faucets get old, this can happen.
How it happens:
For example another faucet is turned on inside house, and pressure differential between hot and cold causes hot water at shower handle to pass through mixing area and into cold water line.
So if another faucet has been run, then that lets hot flow to faulty single handled shower faucet.
To confirm this is the problem: turn on other faucet and put ear against shower faucet to listen for moving water.
This condition may also signal there is a water leak.
The problem is not harmful, but will draw cold water into water heater each time, and is energy wasteful.
Replace faucet or have plumber repair problem.

What is that rattling sound when i use my kitchen faucet in the extreme hot or extreme cold position?

Water hammer: is a loud banging or clanging of the pipes usually occurring when a valve is turned on or off due to loose pipes.

Solution: Anchor the offending pipes to the wall. Buy water hammer arrestors. Also Lower the water pressure with a pressure reducing valve

Hope this tip Helps.

Hot and cold water trickles from faucet--seems nearly clogged.

The debre from turning off the valves comes through the lines and clogs up,usually the aireator, the screen at the end of the faucet. Take aireator off ,,colena and reassemble. If that does not work, disconnect the  lines at the shurtoff agaoun and look for hte obstructions for the aireator back to the shurtoffs.
