Hey welcome to fixya. Hope u 'll be fine
The 6500 error code is a logic board error code. The PCI Bus error is detected by the ASCI. Sounds like it needs new logic board. Solution is first of all you can try to reset your printer -

  • Turn the printer off with the Power button (if available).
  • Disconnect the data cable from the printer.
  • Unplug the printer's power cord for approximately 10 minutes, and then plug it back in.
  • Turn the printer back on. If this works you're done,
If it not works then try following

  • After confirming that the printer is powered on, open the paper output tray.
  • Open the top cover and wait until the print head moves to the center.
  • Open the inner cover and check that ink tanks are properly seated.
  • Properly seated
  • Press down on each ink tank until a click is heard.
  • Close the inner cover and top cover

if reset method not works for you then you go for the new logic board replacement
Best of luck
Kindly keep thumbs up in Rating if it is helpful,
THANKS & Keep using Fixya

To clear error messages displayed on the LCD, you may need to simultaneously press Stop/Reset and ON/OFF buttons.
1. With the printer powered on, press and hold down the Stop/Reset button then press the ON/OFF button.
2. Once the printer is powered off, hold down Stop/Reset and then press ON/OFF. This should clear/reset all errors from memory.

Had to move the printer cartridge and shut down three times, but it finally kicked in and started working again. Don't give up just trying it once.

It may be the cartridge...try removing it and then reseating it. If that doesn't do it, clean the contacts with water or isopropyl alcohol.(power off when you do this)

How do i fix my printer, error 6500

Please follow the steps below:

1- Remove ALL the ink cartridges from the printer

2- Check that there is no residual tape on the cartridges.

3- Then clean the contacts (the hole where the ink comes out) on the cartridges as well as inside the printer itself (you may want to use gloves here)

NOTE: Clean the contacts with a small amount of warm water on a cotton swab until no ink comes off on the swab.

4- If any of the other cartridges are low, empty, leaking or bulging, replace them with genuine and original ones.

5- Then turn off the machine and unplug it for 60 seconds

6- Insert the cartridges and check to see if the issue persists.

Printer blinking error 6500 help

The error code of 6500 is a PCI bus error and this is a Service Error Code. Typically this is an internal error of one of the ASIC chips on the logic board and can only be repaired by replacing the logic board at the Canon Service Center.
