Goodman GSC130361DE premature shut off

I have a GSC130361DE about 18 months old. The Fan starts and the compressor starts, then the compressor shuts off in about 30 seconds. The fan continues to run. I can shut it off at the Tstat and wait 1 minute and the compressor will start again. Sometimes it runs until the Tstat shuts it down properly, sometimes after 2, 4, 10 minutes.
I have had it checked out 3 times by a qualified AC guy. He cannot find anything wrong with it. No breaker or drainage issues. New thermostat.

Suggestions?

Update: I have noticed that when I shut down the entire unit at the thermostat and wait a bout 1 minute, the system will start up again and work properly.

So, it's not likely an outside power supply problem. But it is related to the starting and stopping of the unit by the thermostat. The Tstat is new.

My Goodman DSZ160361AE doesn't run. When I start it up it will run for about 4 seconds then shut off. I get an error code of 7 yellow blinks which means run circuit or compressor windings

Get rid of the hard start cap. Hard start capacitors should never be used in conjuction with normal compressor operation. Contact your local dealer for goodman and find the correct dual capactor for your machine and install it. Odds are your dual capacitor is either not functioning properly due to over voltage strike or it is the wrong size. On the wiring to your compressor, black is normally common and lead directly back to your main contactor. The red wire is the running lead and again normally goes to the c connection on the dual capacitor which leads back to the other side of the main contactor. The remaining wire on your compressor goes back to the herm connection on your dual capacitor. You may have swapped the wires for your power supply to your capacitor. I did this once and I figured it out about 5 hours later after I performed a wire by wire check against the wiring diagram. If you switch the wire around you turn the start windings into run windings and vice versa. They are not designed to be interchangeble. Just check your wiring against the diagram and the problem should clear up.
Hope this helps.

Goodman heatpump fan runs, condenser wont start

Either the condenser fan has bad bearings, or it has a defective fan capacitor.
Turn off the breaker to the outside unit.
Spin the fan blade by hand.
If the fan blade spins easily and will spin a few revolutions with no problem the fan bearings are good.
If not, replace the fan motor due to bad bearings.
I am pretty sure you fan motor is bad because with a bad capacitor the fan motor will not get up to speed and may just sit and overheat.
I'm leaning toward a bad fan motor.

I have a 16 SEER Goodman air conditioner and during the morning hours, temperature ranging 75 degrees outside, the compressor comes on but not the outside fan. It only runs for a minute and a half then...

The fan is shutting off in order to maintain head pressure when the outdoor temperature is low. This is common on 16 seer and above systems. It helps your system be more efficient.

I would guess that the fan off setting on your limit is set a little to high. If you have the manual you can see what it says about changing the running time for the fan after the burner has shut off look on the control board and you should see two switches, one to set the time for burners to fire before main blower starts and one to set time for fan to run after burners shut off. To help with the problem you are describing set fan run time up so fan wii run longer. Hope this helps. Thaks.

Goodman CK36-18: Outside fan kicks on, but

Sounds like a bad capacitor. They can be bad and the fan will still run. Turn off power and check for burnt wires on the top of the contactor going to the capacitor or on the top of the capacitor.. Check terminals on the compressor also. When capacitors go bad they are slightly swollen. They can also look good and be bad . Could be compressor but start with capacitir and wires. IWork on a lot goodman units. Most of the time it is the cap.
