My device does not recognize a 2gb micro sd I install. Is there a procedure for installing this?

    Thanks for the reply.

I have never used the slot before. The device is full, music only, and I wanted to expand the memory. I simply bought the micro SD card and incerted it. When attached to my computer, there is no increase in capacity . There is also indication the card is even there.

Sorry for the double post before, I was not sure that the first one went through.
    I will try this suggestion.
    Thanks

From the "Settings" menu, select USB Mode. Do you have MSC or MTP selected?

If you set it to MSC, Explorer should see the card as a removable drive.

  • kakima May 11, 2010

What did you put on the card? The Sansa only plays music from the card, not videos or photos.

Where did you put your music on the card? Are they in a folder named "MUSIC"?

  • kakima May 11, 2010

    Did that work?

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

I'm sorry. The solution you described above worked perfectly. I also found that cards bigger that 2gb do not work.
    thanks for your help.

Glad to have been of help.

Cards bigger than 2GB won't work. The Sansa works with microSD cards. Cards bigger than 2GB are actually microSDHC (the HC stands for High Capacity) and use a different protocol. Newer Sansas such as the Fuze will use them but the e-series won't.

  • OpenSipapu Jan 05, 2011

I read recently somewhere that newer driver software for the e280 v2 WILL allow microSD cards larger than 2GB to be used. -However when I pop my new 8GB microSD HC card in, like Calhoon above, nothing happens. Was the info on the new firmware bogus?- as I suspect? Is Sandisk ever going to offer a fix on this?

  • kakima Jan 05, 2011

open, I don't think a firmware fix is possible, since the difference between microSD and microSDHC are hardware differences. There are newer Sansa units that do accept microSDHC cards, but they have different hardware inside.

What's your problem?lg900g won't recognize micro sd

The LG900g works with microSD cards. Your 8GB card is actually a microSDHC card. While microSDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically compatble and will not work in devices not specifically designed to work with the higher-capacity cards. You need to use microSD cards, 2GB and smaller.

5. Because of your micro SD 2GB, repeat the process of recovery (repeat step 2, 3, 4)
After all data is secure, do the process of removing the micro SD password

Step Two:
The first alternative - use the software HP Drive Key Boot Utility
1. Download and install the software HP Drive Key Boot Utility

Micro sd 2gb tidak bisa format

Hallo scorpio, semoga solusi ini membantu

If the micro SD format fails, do not you repeat the formatting process. Because it will exacerbate the damage to the micro SD. Follow the steps below. Good luck.

1. Download and install EASEUS Data Recovery
2. Choose Complete Recovery - Next
3. Choose the drive micro SD - Next
4. Save the data to the hard disk (max. 1GB)

7. Quick format micro SD (FAT file system)
8. Restore all data, to the micro SD.

The second alternative - use software HDD Low Level Format Tool
1. Download and install HDD Low Level Format Tool
2. Select micro SD - Continue
3. Click S.M.A.R.T - click Get Smart Attributes
4. Click LOW LEVEL FORMAT - click Format this device
5. Wait until the process is complete - press OK
6. Remove the micro SD from the USB port, then insert it again.
7. Quick format micro SD (FAT file system)
8. Restore all data, to the micro SD.

If the second solution does not work, it means your micro SD damaged firmware. Based on experience, one of the causes of damage to the firmware is, the formatting process is done repeatedly, but always failed.

I hope this information helps. Thank you for using FixYa!

My PC will not recognize my 2GB Micro SD Card

Does the PC recognize the adapter when you place onto the USB port? If not, try another USB port. It should atleast say it has detected hardware, see if it's finding and installing the drivers correctly.

If it's not the adapter, could you reformat the microsd card? Perhaps, it is corrupted? Is this SDHC or SD (what capacity). Older Blackberries do not support SDHC (I believe this is 4gb or above), perhaps this has something to do with it.

I hope this helps,
Bill

2gb Sansa Fuze won't recognize 2gb Micro SD

place the blank card into the SanDisk player
go to SETTINGS press "enter"
go to SYSTEM SETTINGS press "enter
go to FORMAT press "enter"
it will ask "are you sure you want to format this device"?
select YES

dowload songs to REMOVABLE DISK drive F, at least that is what my PC assigned it to. You will overload your MP3 PLAYER if you continue to download to the Sanza Drive.

Hope this helps.

Installing a 2GB PNY Micro SD Card

Hello,

Only the Sprint version of this phone supports memory cards over 1 Gigabyte. Sorry. But if you have a Sprint phone comment back to me using the comment box below. Thanks.

If you don't have a Sprint phone you need to acquire a 1GB card and use that. Hold on to your 2GB card as it will be usable when you upgrade at the end of your contract period.
