Quiet Dishwasher no longer quiet

I have a 3 year old Bosch dishwaser that is supposed to be silent while it runs. It has now started being very noisy at the begining and end of the wash cycle. What would cause the loud noise and what is the fix?

Same issue. Have had this repaired a few times --- so much for German engineering. Once out of warranty and that bill was enough to drive me back to Kenmore!

One of th eproblems earlier was grease build up in the lines. They replaced a panel and also found that the booster wire was loose. I am not sure what the real problem was/is. However, now it has a low, grinding noise on the start and at the end and my marvelously quiet dishwasher is no longer marvelous or quiet

Hello. The drain motor is what runs at the beginning and end of the cycle. You can take off the drain impeller cover, which is on the left side of the sump area under the filter screen. You will need a torx head screw driver which can be bought at any hardware store. The tip kind of looks like an astorics/star. This may be hard if you don't know what you are looking for. Any way take off the cover and see if something is hitting the impeller. If not then you will need to replace the drain motor, which can be removed, not very easily though, from the bottom front.
Warning: It can be hard to get the motor to install properly with out it leaking. You will need to make sure that the "O" ring is properly installed onto the the pump and you may need to put some liquid soap on it (the "O" ring) to keep it from binding.

Golly, the joys of Bosch ownership, just look at all the fun things one gets to do... as one has nothing better to do of course, than become an appliance technician.. German engineering at its best eh..

Bosch dishwasher noisy vibration

A solution to this problem would be to sell me your dishwasher. The law firm for which I work is looking to acquire an old unrepaired Bosch SHU 33 dishwasher for some ongoing litigation. If you (or anyone else with this model Bosch) could send me some details regarding your dishwasher, you may be able simply to buy a whole new dishwasher. My email is JFraser -at- jshlawmi.com.

Thanks!

Should I buy a Bosch?

Hi,
In my opinion, these do not live up to the Bosch name. They seem to come up on our radar here with "unusual" problems, and a lot of the questions posted go unanswered.
I replaced a beautiful stainless steel Kitchen Aid, after replacing the motor/impeller assembly because it was noisy, and the new one failed also. I bought a Samsung, and I like it. There a re several schools of thought about dishwashers, neither of them are very good, but here goes: One friend buys the brand name cheaper models. One buys only the higher end "best" types.
My best advice is to buy a brand with a high degree of reliability, and stay in the mid price range. The reason I say this is that the middle price range units generally have the better components of their "flagship" models, but don't have as many cycle choices, rack choices, etc.
GE, Whirlpool, (Samsung) are good brands. Frigidare is in there, too. I will never have another Kitchen Aid or a Maytag. I found them to be overpriced and unreliable, but this is just my opinion.

Best regards, --W/D--

Air wrenches are noisy. Aree all air wrenches equally noisy?

No, by design there is a hammer hitting an anvil inside the tool. There is no way to make that quiet. If you want quiet you will have to use hand tools.

Hello mathsmike,
Welcome to fixya,

You said,We have a relatively new Bosch fridge-freezer. It has started chuntering away like a motor-bike in the corner of the room. It falls silent if either door is opened. Sometimes it falls quiet and runs sweetly for hours before starting this racket again. Any ideas?

What is the Complete model number and the date you bought the fridge!

It sounds like it may be a faulty fan or fan clutch from here, if it's not something else very simple!

Send me the info requested and do a repair search for you !
Waiting for your response!
Huuum

Here are some common noise problems till I look your unit up
!

1.Check that the fridge is level, using a spirit level!
2. Appliance is touching some other unit or appliances, or counter or wall.
3. Drawers, baskets,or storage ares are loose, or sticking!
4.Receptacles or bottles are touching. Move them away from each other,
ESPECIALLY ON THE DOOR,because it's quiet when the doors are open!
